While We’re Waiting… Ultimate baseball road trip and Lindor in ’14?
January 17, 2014Down the Gopher hole: Bucks reeling after third straight loss
January 17, 2014Davone Bess has been posting strange pictures to social media and now we can add a mugshot to the portfolio. According to CBS in Florida, Bess was arrested at 6:19 a.m. this morning for “assaulting an officer/firefighter” at the Fort Lauderdale airport.
Bess missed the last two Browns games this season while dealing with personal matters. The Browns traded for Bess this off-season and gave him a $14.18 million contract with $5.75 million guaranteed. He is set to make just over $3 million in the upcoming season, but it remains to be seen if he’ll be able to (or allowed to) play between photos showing apparent marijuana use and now an assault arrest on top of it.
The Browns move to bring Davone Bess to Cleveland was frequently referenced as a good move and a no-brainer. Bess has really done a lot in the past year to make this look like a horrendous deal via hindsight.

Weed affects this guy a lot different than most, I assume.
Browns WRs should stay out of Florida in the offseason.
They should really have the Head Coach sit this guy down for a talk. Wait… D’oh!
Well I think this puts to an end the “this is all a rouse to get him out of Cleveland” b.s. Hope Davone gets the help he needs.
Maybe he fed a diabetic police horse junk food.
This is what happens when you legalize Marijuana. This country’s going straight to hell.
The excellence of the Three Stooges just keeps on giving.
Davone Bess = Patsy for the Republican National Committee
Marijuana is not legal in Florida
Everyone should stay out of Florida in the offseason.
Ah, just realized that’s where Donte did his thing.
oh, no. he first stole someone’s coffee and crushed the cup in his bare hand spilling it all over the officer. he then removed his shirt and went into a fighting stance. apparently, just bug-eyed and staring off the entire time before eventually being taken into custody.
Amazed at what a disaster the Browns have become.
Donte Stallworth says that’s why after a night out you just get in your car and drive home.
Someone must have laced his weed.
Ouch.
I think the someone was Davone Bess.
And all seasons
Facts, who needs ’em!
That poor firefighter clearly where there is smoke there is Davone Fire Bess!
PCP. I’m calling it.
It’s Florida, so we’re just lucky he didn’t devour the police officer’s face.
I love the headline officer/firefighter. Which was he? Security officer? TSA/NSA? Random figure of authority/Watchdog of the radical imagination? Either way Bess knew something was up.
Good thing he wasn’t driving too fast.
Blame the “one-armed man”! (insert Bess drops stat)
We are reminded of the gospel of Rick James: Cocaine is a helluva drug.
I just wanna know “Where in the world is Josh Gordon?”
Looks like Bess is clearly gone, and it likely won’t cost the Browns a penny either with Goodell helping of course.
Who does Davone Bess think he is? Bob Marley? We’re lucky he didn’t shoot the sheriff in that case!
Hopefully the Squirrel Master can keep Nasty Nate from taking his cocktail fruit.
Better or worse than Winslow’s latest adventures in a motor vehicle?
He was just filming another sequel to Harold and Kumar.
Winslow goes to Boston Market.
Zing!
Very good question it’s not like firemen and cops have the same outfit.
not even close. winslow in full crank mode in a parking lot
haha. Yesss. for the win.
Hey guys, real quick – this story is sad, not funny.

davone bess
donte stallworth – the dui in 2009 and the hot air balloon in 2013
david boston – a few times, last one in 2011
chad johnson – headbutting his wife in 2013
antonio bryant – strangling baby momma in 2012
i miss anyone?
Obviously, this is all Rob Chudzinski’s fault.
It’s true
Now it turns out that two months before his trade to the Browns, Bess was involved in a similar altercation with the police and hospitalized against his will. That means either: (1) this was covered up from the Browns when they decided to trade for Bess and give him an extension, or, most likely (2) they were aware of the incident and went forward with the trade anyways.
Assuming it is the latter, how can any fan have faith that this front office has any idea what it is doing? Haslam was correct, this isn’t the same old Browns. This seems to be an entirely new level of incompetence that even Browns’ fans are unaccustomed to.
