January 9, 2014Kevin Noon of the Buckeye Grove is reporting that Ohio State defensive line coach Mike Vrabel will take a position on former Penn State coach Bill O’Brien’s staff with the Houston Texans.
O’Brien was an assistant coach for the New England Patriots when Vrabel was winning Super Bowls with the Patriots.
Vrabel came to Ohio State when Luke Fickell was named the interim coach. He just finished his third season as a defensive assistant coach with the Buckeyes, where he also was an All-American defensive lineman.
The move will be a blow to the Buckeyes, as Vrabel was considered a top recruiter.
