NFL News: Jason Campbell “so far so good” on recovery

The Cleveland Browns might have a slightly more familiar face under center this weekend in New England if reports about Jason Campbell are true. Alex Marvez is reporting that the Browns concussed QB is optimistic to play against the Pats this weekend.

This would be very good news for everyone related to the Browns. Earlier this week when the Browns saw Brandon Weeden enter the league’s concussion protocol following Sunday’s loss to the Jaguars, they were faced with one man left standing. That was Alex Tanney who was signed on November 26th from the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad. They also signed former Bears QB Caleb Hanie, but between the two, there was about 10 days of total Browns experience to be had before the game this weekend. If it had been either of those two, it would have been akin to Bruce Gradkowski redux.

So, it would be good news if Jason Campbell can find his way back to health, to say the least.

I know I’m the only one in the universe that feels this way, but I want to see Trick Shot Tanney start in NE. We already know what we’re going to get with Campbell. Why not have some fun with the loss that we’re going to take? Play with our food, so to speak.
