In the third edition of the BCS standings this season, Alabama remains number one with Florida State and Oregon swapping spots again. The Seminoles were second in the first standings, but gave way to Oregon last week. After a victory over #7 Miami, Florida State recaptures the second spot.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are fourth again after dismantling Purdue 56-0. It was the most lopsided victory in the history of the pairings between the two teams. Ohio State threw for 295 yards and ran for 345 more. In the last two weeks, against Purdue and Penn State, the Buckeyes have rushed for 753 yards.
The Buckeye offense ranks 5th nationally in points scored per game with 48.2 and 8th in rushing yards per contest at 301.1. The defense is 9th overall giving up 17 points per game. The win on Saturday was Ohio State’s second shutout of the season.
