WFNY Tickets: Five top Cavaliers games

Just three seasons removed from the heartbreak bestowed upon the franchise, the Cavs are already back and competing for a playoff spot. Despite the rapid return to relevance, Cleveland Cavalier tickets are actually seeing a 9.17% year-over-year decline in price. The average price of a home Cavs ticket last season was $131.89, whereas tickets for the upcoming 2013-2014 season are presently at $119.79. If the young nucleus of Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters and number one overall draft pick Anthony Bennett start rolling early in the year, prices will certainly begin to jump.

1. March 18th – Miami Heat – Average Price: $329 | Get-in Price: $75

Could this be LeBron James’ final return trip to Cleveland in a Miami Heat uniform? Cavs fans should feel conflicted heading into this game. To boo or to cheer? If the people of Cleveland can remind LeBron of the place he was once viewed as a deity, perhaps he returns home in the summer of 2014. Prices for this matchup are averaging 170% higher than the average ’13-14 Cleveland home game, at an average price of $329. LeBron lovers/haters can get in the door to boo/cheer him at a “Get-in Price” of $75.

2. November 27th – Miami Heat – Average Price: $283 | Get-in Price: $41

This early season, mid-week matchup with the Heat is seeing prices slightly lower than Miami’s March visit, though not by much. If Kyrie Irving is ready to show that he is a true superstar in the league, he’ll have his chance to showcase his talents on national television against LeBron and Dwyane Wade. As much as LeBron will want to tune out the following summer, the storyline will absolutely flood this game and give fans the first chance to show their appreciations – and hope – for a LeBron homecoming. Prices for the first Heat game are still 135% higher than the home season average, with tickets averaging $283 each. The “Get-in Price” for this game though offers serious value with tickets available for just $41.

3. March 20th – Oklahoma City Thunder – Average Price: $210 | Get-in Price: $45

Just two days after the NBA’s best player visits Cleveland, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder bring their high octane offense to town. One of the most entertaining players in all of the league, Durant is a constant threat to drop 50 on any opponent. This game is Oklahoma City’s only visit to Cleveland this season. The current average price for this Thursday night matchup is $210, or 75% higher than an average home Cavs game. The cheapest “Get-in Price” for the Thunder game sits at $45.

4. March 22nd – Houston Rockets – Average Price: $183 | Get-in Price: $49

Things don’t get any easier for the Cavs as they conclude the toughest home stretch they’ll face all season against the new-look Houston Rockets. James Harden, Dwight Howard and crew make their sole Cleveland trip for this Saturday night matchup. The game will feature a hopefully healthy Andrew Bynum against a hopefully healthy Dwight Howard. The average ticket price for the Rockets visit is 53% higher than the Cavs season average at $183. Tickets are available to see James Harden’s beard starting at $49.

5. February 5th – Los Angeles Lakers – Average Price: $178 | Get-in Price: $60

Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers make their only trip to Cleveland for this Wednesday night matchup with the Cavs. Kyrie Irving will have an extra chip on his shoulder to prove to Kobe that his trash talk during the 2012 Olympic Team practices was legit.  The average ticket price to see the” Lake Show” in Cleveland is 48% higher than the average home contest at Quicken Loans Arena, at $178. With Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant both winding down their careers, don’t miss out on the chance to see them live with a “Get-in Price” of $60.
