Week Seven: Browns vs Packers Open Thread

Brandon Weeden and the Browns will look to bounce from last week’s frustrating loss when they take the field against the Packers in Green Bay. This is our first Sunday with the Browns in the late afternoon slot. I’m not sure how I feel about this game. On one hand, the Packers are fairly beat up and are missing quite a few receivers. On the other hand, they still have Aaron Rogers. He’s a concern.

Hey, did you know that Aaron Rogers though he might be drafted by the Browns? Crazy, huh. Also, Tristan Thompson changed shooting hands and Jerome Bettis hails from the Detroit area. And Peyton Manning used to play for the Colts. Craziness.

Also, the Browns signed WR Charles Johnson off of Green Bay’s practice squad and it turns he had a torn ACL. So that happened.

Here’s some of the delicious Browns goodness that WFNY served up this past week:

Rick  wrote about Wisconsin native Joe Thomas and dream of playing in Lambeau.

Scott wrote about Chud’s decision to stick with our buddy Brandon Weeden (and if you haven’

Craig wondered if the Browns can the fans anything to believe in this year.

Ryan took a look at Jordan Cameron and Josh Gordon possibly setting some records this year.

This is your Week Seven open thread.

All the time in the world and he overthows Little by a mile. Wow. Season over.

  • KC

hopefully just the lambo jitters. But yeah..not pretty

  • FearTheElf

    1 yard run. Overthrow. Overthrow

    Weeden’s offense in a nutshell.

  • MrCleaveland

Oh no, the turd pants. The Packers uniforms actually look better than ours.

Oh well, the Browns are playing like turd, so they might as well look the part.

  • C-Bus Kevin

I live in Columbus, so by the time they switched from Jets/Pats to the Browns, the Browns were already losing.

    That’s just not fair.

  • CB Everett

4 TDs by tight ends in the past 5 quarters. Horton’s “little ace in the hole” Robertson has been horrible in coverage.

  • C-Bus Kevin

Another first down missed if he just throws it on time.

Weeden looks like he doesn’t know the receivers routes so HE needs to wait to see which way they break before he throws.

  • C-Bus Kevin

4:50pm: Announcers mention Cleveland defensive rank. This week…7th.

This could be the first top ten defense to finish below .500 in a while.

  • saggy

it actually makes me feel really good to know DEFINITIVELY that we are just a QB away from something competitive.

This Weeden kid is just awful. I am pretty sure he is the worst starting QB in the league.

  • C-Bus Kevin

Stop me if you’ve heard this one…Weeden INT leads to touchdown.

I’m starting to get angry at the organization for feeling it’s okay to keep Weeden as the starting QB. It’s embarrassing.

  • FearTheElf

Most overrated defense in the league. Green Bay has scored on every possession so far. How is that good?

    pathetic.

  • Rudy

Jump on me all you want, McCoy was better.

  • C-Bus Kevin

He’s worse than half the backups in this league. I’m so mad they didn’t get Freeman. They just need an average QB to be good. This season doesn’t have to be a waste!

  • FearTheElf

If the Browns want a chance they need a TD on this drive. But most likely it will end in a punt or int.

  • Wow

Don’t worry that ranking will drop after this game.

  • FearTheElf

That was a first down…but we all know the Browns never get any calls

  • Big Z

aaaaaannnnd click! Turning this garbage off. Just can’t watch Weeden anymore. Too much to handle after forcing myself to watch McCoy the last few years (shudder).

  • Whatever

yeah it’s about to be 21-0

  • TSR3000

Same here in Detroit. Prob for the best.

  • Sam

    What a freaking mess.

  • Robbie S

    So how about them Cavs?

  • FearTheElf

Score could be 24-3 before the Browns touch the ball again…

  • BlueDog

It’s almost like weeden is playing a game with himself where he drops back and sees how high he can count before getting sacked. Maybe it’s fun for him but it’s real crappy for me to watch.

  • historycat

We are resorting to the wildcat because Weeden can’t run an NFL offense. Getting tired of wasting Sundays.

  • Robbie S

I’ve never wished an injury on an NFL player but, could Weeden at least jam his thumb or stub his toe? It’s the only way we are going to be rid of him for any time.

  • Whatever

Apparently a TD is too much to ask for…

  • C-Bus Kevin

Who do I address my letter to if I want to complain about this offense? Is this a congressman situation?

They can’t even get past the 30.

  • Wow

Holding GB to 17 points and the offense only score 6 so far. What a mess.

  • FearTheElf

So it’s still “leading with the helmet” if you hit the defender with your shoulder? okay….

  • Robbie S

HE TRIED TO DO IT AGAIN! WTF Weeden!

Yes, and vomit is better than poop, too.
