NFL News: Cleveland Browns’ quarterback Brian Hoyer injured in first quarter

In his second series of Thursday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills, quarterback Brian Hoyer was injured on a first down scramble.

Hoyer was beginning a slide close to the Browns’ sideline when he was hit high from a Bills defender. His legs bent awkwardly beneath him. Initially, it appeared that Hoyer could have been the victim of a helmet to helmet hit, but replays did not clearly verify that. No flags were thrown on the play.

Bills rookie Kiko Alonso was the player that hit Hoyer.

The Browns announced his injury as a right knee injury, and his return is questionable.

  • CORTISONE, NOVICANE, TAPE AND POPSICLE STICKS… IDGAF. GET THAT KID BACK OUT THERE.

I can’t take one more Brandon Weeden snap. I swear to the Great I Am I’ll be a Packers fan by the end of the night. My sanity is fragile!

I think it would be completely reasonable to cut Weeden at halftime.

    WEEDEN IS F***ING TERRIBLE!!! AHHHH!!!

  • Big Z

It shows you just how bad Weeden really is…

Nobody can call a timeout like Brandon Weeden can.

We need a Shane Falco moment. Hoyer come out of the tunnel and lead the team to victory.

So many here to dog him but none of you come back here and say hey he led us to victory despite being down 10-0 and the team demoralized.

Great win for the browns. Feel awful for hoyer. That was a dirty hit by Alonso and I wouldn’t at all mind seeing him get chop blocked on to the IR.

Led us to victory? We won by 13 in a game where we had a return TD and a pick 6. Weeden is lucky the rest of the team stepped up. He had a nice completion to Gordon, but generally he just looked like he was playing slower than everyone else on the field.
