NBA News: Cavaliers rookie Sergey Karasev hurt in preseason win

The Cavaliers announced that rookie G/F Sergey Karasev did not return to the floor after halftime of the Cavaliers’ win over Philadelphia due to a sprained ankle. The Cavaliers beat Philadelphia 104-93.

Karasev scored three points on 1-6 shooting in the first half. He will be evaluated tomorrow. The Cavaliers will be in Cincinnati to play a preseason game Wednesday against the Washington Wizards at the U.S. Bank Arena. They conclude the preseason against the Bobcats in Charlotte on Thursday.

The season opener is Wednesday, October 30th at the Q against the Brooklyn Nets.

    Man, that stinks. I was really hoping to see him continue to grow with the 2nd unit. I thought a 2nd unit lineup with Jack – Karasev – Miles/Clark – Bennett – Zeller/Varejao/Bynum was going to be a fun one to watch.

    I fess up. Soon as I start to really enjoy watching any Cleveland athlete he gets hurt or otherwise disappears immediately thereafter. Gordon’s suspension, Kipnis’s slump, Hoyer’s knee, Karasev’s ankle … It’s not you guys, it’s me.
