September 21, 2013There was some confusion around Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller’s status for this afternoon’s game. ESPN first reported that a source confirmed that Miller will miss Saturday’s game against Florida A&M. However, Ohio State announcer Paul Keels said on the radio that while backup Kenny Guiton will start, Mill will suit up and play and that ESPN was wrong.

This sent Twitter into, well, atwitter. Ohio State reporters starting tweeting that while Miller was warming up with the rest of the quarterbacks, he was in shorts and sweats while everyone else in uniform. He was tossing but wasn’t dropping back but he wasn’t wearing his knee brace.

It seemed by all accounts, including our eyeballs, that Miller won’t be playing versus Florida A&M. Ohio State finally confirmed about a half hour before kickoff that Miller wasn’t up for it.
Urban Meyer just said this on Braxton Miller – “He doesn’t feel like he’s ready to go.”

Miller’s absence probably won’t be felt this afternoon (as Ohio State is a 50 point favorite over the Rattlers), but things might get dicey a week from now when Ohio State opens up the Big Ten season with a night game against no.24 Wisconsin.
