The “Brian Hoyer? Screw Brian Hoyer!” WFNY Tribe Roundtable
September 18, 2013Trying to make sense of the Trent Richardson trade.
September 18, 2013The Cleveland Browns have announced that they have traded 2012 first round pick Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts.
“Trent’s a great player and we expect him to have success in this league,” said Browns CEO Joe Banner. “Right now, based on how we’re building this team for sustainable success, we’re going to be aggressive and do what it takes to assemble a team that consistently wins.”
Additionally, the Browns also announced that they are bringing to Cleveland for a physical RB Willis McGahee.
McGahee, a two-time Pro Bowler (2007, 2011), is 6-foot, 235-pound veteran in his 11th year out of Miami (Fla.). He has four 1,000-yard rushing seasons during a distinguished career.
You have to assume that Trent’s comments and disappointment with his playing time on third down had something to do with this move.

But he was still praised for acquiring the picks before the Irving-Thompson draft.
Fair enough, my bad.
no, with our luck we’ll somehow manage to win 4 games and end up with the 5th QB in a 4QB draft class.
yeah, MAC schools are all offense and no defense, right? the opposite of our Browns.
the only top10 pick we have used at QB since ’99 has been Tim Couch and we gave him an expansion team to get beaten behind.
I’m going and I want to announce it. ANNOUNCEMENT!
I don’t remember him trading away the teams best offensive player 10 games into the NBA season though.
Pun fully intended.
That’s not an adequate sample size to convince me of anything.
Absolutely.
The Colts have the Luck literally and figuratively. It must be the horseshoe!
Btw how’s Andy Reid doing out of Philadelphia?
Still I don’t feel any better about a second attempt which seems inevitable at this point.
Announcing that you’re leaving as a fan? Ok. Bye.
That’s a fair point.
Thanks for saying bye @deepagel. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me
The city of Cleveland needs to lockout the Browns. They should have gotten more than a late 1st round pick. What a bunch of bums.
Don’t mention it. The funny thing is, you will be back – that part is guaranteed.
