September 6, 2013NFL News: Barkevious Mingo ruled out for Sunday
September 6, 2013Cleveland Indian Nick Swisher wants to say thank you to the fans that come support the team. So he has partnered with the club to provide an additional fireworks night set to music of Swisher’s choosing.
“It’s been an exciting season and I hope fans have had as much fun at the ballpark as I have,” Swisher said. “I definitely appreciate fans’ support, and to thank them, I’m giving them one last fireworks show during the Tribe’s Fan Appreciation Weekend!”
Swisher, who long has been involved in community efforts wherever he’s played, also has donated $75,000 to the Providence House, a Cleveland-area crisis nursery, and $25,000 to the FBI Citizens Academy Foundation to assist in the distribution of Child Identification kits in the Cleveland area.
The fireworks will be set to music featuring artists and songs with Cleveland and Ohio ties, including:
· OSU Band: “OSU Battle Cry Fight Song,” “Neutron Dance”
· Black Keys: “Howlin For You,” “Ohio,” “Gold on the Ceiling,” “Everlasting Light”
· White Stripes: “Seven Nation Army”
· McCoys: “Hang On Sloopy”
· Michael Stanley: “My Town”
· Presidents of the United States of America: “Cleveland Rocks”
The show will be the 17th and final fireworks display to be held at Progressive Field this season. Tickets are available for the game by visiting Indians.com.

A nice gesture by Brohio, but how about a hot month of September at the plate?
I was hoping for fireworks from Swisher this year, but this is not what I had in mind.
KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Pretty nice, Bro.
i hate him 5% less
Well played there.
Sheesh, bode.
He’s been kinda cranky lately have you noticed?
Mansturation.
lately? i’m always cranky.
anyways, I’ve just never liked Swisher. didn’t like him with the Yanks and don’t like the whole “bro” persona. it’s me, not him and as has been said before I would be much more willing to ignore my pet peeves on him if he were actually producing at the plate.
Two words: prune juice!
