Cleveland Browns make it two in a row, beat the Bengals!
September 29, 2013Francona: Danny Salazar to start Wild Card game on Wednesday
September 29, 201392 Wins, just like we all predicted.
The Cleveland Indians won their last 10 games of the season to finish the season 92-70 and clinch the first AL Wild Card spot. They finish one game back of the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central.
The Indians will host either the Tampa Bay Rays or the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night for a one-game play-in chance to face the Boston Red Sox in the ALDS.
Ubaldo Jimenez was spectacular, striking out 13 Twins through 6.2 IP. Justin Masterson pitched the last five outs of the game. Nick Swisher homered in the first. It was, to be brief, glorious.
October baseball. Holy cow, you guys. Holy cow.

Roll Tribe. This is just an awesome feeling. I’m sure I’ll say this the next time a Cleveland team makes the playoffs, but this feels so much better than some of the past playoff teams (in any sport). It feels like less of a fluke than the Browns, even though some (most?) might not have expected this. It’s definitely more of a team effort, as opposed to one player carrying the team. Heart breaking lows, but thankfully even more heart lifting highs. Whatever happens, this has been a hell of a ride. And I’ll say it again: ROLL TRIBE. See you in October!
YES.
Kool-Aid for everyone, on the house on this glorious sports Sunday which will culminate in the series finale of one of the best shows on television, “Breaking Bad!”
