“Kosar is extremely tough on quarterbacks, regardless of what teams for which they play. He will hide it in his word use but it is clear who he thinks is a good quarterback and who he thinks can be. The reason it is clear is because Kosar breaks down the defense before the play and is expecting the quarterback to make the right read or take advantage of a weakness, which is something he did his entire playing career. He gets frustrated when guys make the wrong reads or make bad decisions and play right into the strength of the defense, whether they play for the Browns or their opponent.
The most stinging commentary of an opposing player Kosar has made in his stint in the booth might have been in a game against the Chicago Bears a few years ago and former Florida quarterback, Chris Leak. He was pretty tough on a young man trying to land a roster spot with the Bears. There was no outrage from Lovie Smith or anyone else and no one ever mentioned it. It was no different than the level of criticism he had for Clemens on Thursday. It was not wrong then and it is not wrong now.” [Smith/Dawg Pound Daily]

“Dontre Wilson has been billed as an incredible playmaker. The one-time Oregon recruit made an instant impression on his upperclassmen teammates at Ohio State when he enrolled over the summer. Braxton Miller and Christian Bryant both raved about the Texan’s big-play ability.
But fellow Texan Mike Mitchell was one step ahead of Wilson in practice earlier this week, delivering a crushing blow. It drew ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ from those watching and slaps on the back by teammates. It was a Welcome to College Football moment for Wilson.” [Eleven Warriors]

“For all the grief fans and we in the media have given the Tribe’s bullpen this season, it’s only fair to tip the ol’ cap for the group’s role in Sunday’s win. Masterson endured arguably his worst start (4.1 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, 1 HBP, 101 pitches) of the season, and the bullpen helped bail him out with 4.2 shutout innings with just one hit allowed.
Lefty Rich Hill followed Masterson with one inning and righty Matt Albers came next with 1.2 frames. That put the offense in position to rally, which it did, setting things up nicely for setup man Joe Smith (eighth) and Perez (ninth). It seemed fitting that Perez was on the mound to seal the win, when it was his blown save that began the losing streak.
Perez had no comment.” [Bastian/MLB.com]

Even more Kosar comments coverage – thank you Indians see if you had actually won some games crap like this wouldn’t be front page news! Only in Cleveland.
But this is national news man…we have to over-cover the nonsense if it gets to the national level! 😉
Damn liberal mainstream media Sarah Palin was right!
Thought the Dawgs by Nature piece was great. Too bad perspective doesn’t generate clicks on a national level.
