NFL News: Trent Richardson is “full go” as Browns camp looms

Second-year Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson is reportedly “full go” with the team’s training camp set to kick off this week.

Though being shut down earlier this summer due to a lingering lower leg injury, Richardson is in Berea early, has been practicing with the rookie class, and is set to be a full participant in camp. Nate Ulrich of The Akron Beacon-Journal reports that Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski said that players who were injured in the spring, as Richardson was, were able to report to training camp on Friday, beginning on-field work Saturday.

Richardson was reportedly set to miss all of July, potentially including some of the preseason, after the team shut the al-purpose running back down to let his strained shin heal. Despite speculation, Richardson repeatedly stated that the injury was not of concern and that the team was merely being precautionary. Chudzinski was also adamant that the 2012 third-overall selection would not miss any time.

In 2012, Richardson carried the ball 267 times, tallying 950 yards and 11 touchdowns, adding 51 receptions for 367 yards and a touchdown. He is expected to address the local media on Tuesday.
