June 30, 2013The Indians have announced outfielder Michael Bourn will be placed on the 3 day Paternity list while LHP Nick Hagadone has been called up from AAA Columbus to take Bourne’s spot on the roster.
“Bourn, 30, is batting .299 (69-231) with 12 doubles, one triple, 2 homers, 15 RBI and 33 runs scored across 56 games this season. He also ranks 2nd on the team with 11 stolen bases (11-for-16).
Hagadone, 27, has gone 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA (15 ER/25.0 IP) in 27 relief appearances for Cleveland across 3 previous stints. He was optioned to Triple-A following his most recent outing on Thursday at Baltimore (1.1 IP, 0H, 0 R) and has gone 1-1 with a 2.00 ERA (2 ER/9.0 IP) in 7 relief appearances for the Clippers this season.”
Bourn left the team after Saturday’s win and will be replaced in the starting lineup by Drew Stubbs who will play center field and bat leadoff in the series finale against Chicago.
Hagadone was just optioned down to AAA Columbus on Friday when the Indians brought up Trevor Bauer to start game one of the doubleheader.

Mazel Toff!!! Despite the critics, I believe Bourn has lived up to his contract so far.
If nothing else he’s a difference maker at the top of the lineup. We haven’t had a guy like this since early Sizemore.
Indians place Bourn (Noooooooo) on paternity list (whew). Lot of late nights ahead. This is his second so hopefully he will be more prepared than Swish was. Congrats!
