May 31, 2013Ohio State: E. Gordon Gee could be fired with one more slip-up
May 31, 2013Ohio Stadium could soon be the third-largest stadium in college football if all goes as planned. A report from The Columbus Dispatch states that The Ohio State University’s athletic department is going to propose an expansion project that would add 2,500 seats to the Columbus, Ohio venue to the tune of roughly $9 million.
The move, if approved, would make Ohio Stadium the third-largest stadium in college football behind “The Big House” of Michigan Stadium and Penn State’s Beaver Stadium located in Happy Valley. The University of Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium and the University of Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium would be next on the list after the renovated Ohio Stadium.
As Luke Zimmerman at Land-Grant Holy Land states, Texas A&M has plans for their Kyle Field that are likely to take place in 2015 and would place their capacity above 102,000. The University of Texas is reportedly looking to expand their Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium to between 115,000 and 125,000.

Hahahahahahahahahaha. I guess there just aren’t enough empty seats for them?
They already had pretty laid back fans, their biggest rivalry game is always in Dallas(RRR), and they cancelled their 2nd biggest rivalry (A&M). But, hey, why not add more seats so noone can show up to watch Baylor and TCU.
Note: UTx obviously know what they are doing as they make way more $$$ than any other university in the country from their athletics. However, I find it absolutely hilarious that these seats will likely be “sold” to boosters and then not used.
i found a mock-up of the kyle field expansion.
Gonna need those extra seats when Rutgers starts rolling into town, right?
Almost as if one is floating!!!
