MLB Video: Mark Reynolds Destroys Baseball, Spits, Stares, is Cool(est)

Last night Mark Reynolds got hit near the head by a Jarrod Parker pitch in the first inning.  It didn’t make him happy, so he did this to a baseball later in the evening:

Reynolds called the home run (and we can assume the subsequent stare down and bat flip) the “coolest thing I’ve ever done.”

Oh inDEED.

    Don’t worry, I got it.

  • jeremyohio

Good thing so many people were there to see it.

  • Jaker

Does anyone know how far the Homer was?

  • Harv 21

Really like Mega Mark’s on-field personality – a solid, calm, say little/do much antidote to the oversugared Swisher. It will make watching him more tolerable when he cools off.

  • Harv 21

    460, they said.

  • Harv 21

    seconded

also, relieved when the suddenly frequent homers are far enough out that we don’t have the “He’s outta room it’s outta here” call. Now, if we can just occasionally shut off that french bomb raid siren …

You’ll want to rent seasons 1-5 of The Wire. You will not have done so in vain.

  • mgbode

    I boycott all things Baltimore.

  • Vindictive_Pat

If this is the case, shouldn’t you love the show? It does nothing but highlight what a pile of dog vomit the city of Baltimore is.

  • mgbode

I don’t know. I saw the backdrop being Baltimore and never went further than that. If it is realistic at all, then I should have understood that would be the case.

  • mgbode

don’t make Mark angry, you won’t like Mark when he angry.

  • Harv 21

yep, if I’m on the Baltimore Chamber of Commerce I cringe at every mention.

  • Vindictive_Pat

I think that is why I liked the show so much… it felt so much more realistic than your typical cop dramas. Everyone was a little bad and everyone was a little good.

You’re doing yourself a disservice if you haven’t seen the Wire

    Greatest television drama of all-time

  • Ritz

Agreed – that is one of the most annoying home run calls there is – I literally dread hearing it.

  • mgbode

those tend to be the better ones where they are willing to allow the characters to be on both sides.

  • LaundroMat

It seems he’s backed away from “Souvenir City,” at least. I also haven’t heard “Goodbye, baseball” lately. But then I don’t watch regularly (listen to radio broadcasts, catch video clips on occasion). But counting these, he has come up with THREE absolutely horrendous home run calls. That’s hard to do!

  • ToxicToast

It’s even more depressing to imagine the home run calls he chose to scrap.

  • ToxicToast

This clip is spectacular. When they win the World Series this year that clip is totally going on the commemorative DVD.

  • mgbode

oh, like he thinks of these things ahead of time.
