Yankees 14, Indians 1: One week in and the rotation is a big problem
April 10, 2013NFL News: Former Browns tight end Alex Smith to visit Bengals
April 10, 2013As Matt Dery pointed out on Twitter, the most interesting thing about this video is Rick Manning not falling for Carrasco’s fake tripping routine and nearly admonishing him for doing what got him suspended last time.
“He didn’t fall down. That was intentional,” Manning said.
See it for yourself.
In the end, the umpire might have done him a favor as Carrasco gave up 7 runs and 2 homers in helping the Indians to a 14-1 shellacking at the hands of the New York Yankees.

Immediately afterward, I ejected myself from watching the game.
I didn’t see the game, but now after seeing this, not only did he lose last nights game, he puts us in a predicament because we had to use todays starter yesterday. Awesome…
It’s hard to root for players like this…
I had so much hope to see how he would be coming from from TJS. Too bad he couldn’t get a head on his shoulders after a 2 year hiatus. Pathetic.
You lasted that long man I had to switch over to “Dancing With the Non-Stars” to get my groove back!
Given how Meyers pitched last night, I’m glad he isn’t going today. That game was already lost. Now McCallster can take his normal turn. Kluber tomorrow?
But . . . today’s starter doesn’t know how to “pitch.” Using him last night in a route was actually a good thing. We don’t have to watch him today!
Did it work?
i actually don’t think he was faking a trip, i think he ducked when he saw how high the ball was riding in toward youklis. it’s your natural reaction.. when someone is about to get plunked in the head, you naturally duck, hoping they do the same.
If it was a random pitch in a close game, then sure. But this was the first pitch after a homerun in the midst of a blowout. Indefensible
If I’m playing devil’s advocate…in Carrasco’s defense: There were several pitches he threw before this that missed high and inside to right-handers.
If Carrasco doesn’t work out, the front office should really be held accountable for bungling up the Cliff Lee trade. He was a Cy Young winner, and people are forgetting he had 2 YEARS left on his team-friendly contract at the time we traded him. These are the moves you have to nail, otherwise you set your franchise back a couple years.
Nah was shooting blanks like the Tribe but I blame Stella!
