What the Browns should have said about Phil Dawson
March 22, 2013Rob Chudzinski talks about Weeden, Desmond Bryant, and the Browns off-season
March 22, 2013They told me I better be in the best shape ever. They told me they’re gonna run the shoes off of me. They’re gonna pass me the ball more. … They’re going to do whatever they can … and they want me to be a leader for this team. Voice-wise, they want me to lead the group. They want me to get on that horse, man. They want me to be that stallion that’s gonna take this program to another level. They’re putting all this stress on me and all this faith in me, man, and so I know what my job is. I know what I gotta do.
— Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson, Thursday on ESPNCleveland’s “The Hooligans,” when asked if the new coaching staff has made him aware of his role I’m 2013.

A stallion on a horse??? I like it.
Now’s one of those times I wish I knew how to Photoshop
Larry Johnson 2.0
Run Trent run!
What’s the level above the NFL to which he’s taking the Browns?
Running without shoes? he might want to ask Braylon about that one.
NFL-Europe
as long as it is 2005 or 2006 Larry Johnson, then I’m onboard
Google will set you free.
I can understand that entirely, but I just worry they’ll run T-Rich into the ground until he’s too injured to even move anymore. I mean, I know running backs like him don’t usually last for years, but I would rather see us get 10 really good years than 1 or 2 excellent ones with nothing else.
I also think I’ve been burned too many times in the past with the Browns to buy into optimism. Hopefully I’m really, really wrong.
I love this man.
S-E-C! S-E-C! S-E-C! (wasn’t it fun watching them flame out in the NIT after kvetching about how they were disrespected? I know, basketball is not football, but I really hate the SEC)
wasn’t he in the “Grand Ma Ma” persona full time by 2005?…oh wait…
you might not want to look at the score of the Wisconsin v. Ole Miss game then.
“10 really good years”
very, very few RBs give you 10 really good years.
Frank Gore is entering year8 (most good, not great years)
S-Jax is entering year10
Take a look at S-Jax in particular though. He was given a TON of carries in the years he could stay healthy (and a ton per game in the years he got hurt). That is what to hope for out of T-Rich.
note: I picked these 2 RBs because I think they most closely resemble what I hope to expect out of Richardson for his career.
that’s ok. I picked against Bo Ryan because I hate his face.
In seriousness, Cuonzo Martin, Tenessee’s coach, was quoted as saying the SEC got jobbed, that Tenessee, Alabama and Kentucky were all tournament teams…then Kentucky and Tennessee promptly went out and lost in the first round of the NIT
I picked against them because the tourney is low-scoring enough without them in it.
Hilarious on Tn. not that he said that, but that his name is Cuonzo and he said that:
“People with the name Cuonzo have a deep inner desire for a stable, loving family or community, and a need to work with others and to be appreciated.”
Yeah, good point. For some reason, I thought SJax passed year 10 last year. I guess I’m thinking the Eddie George/Ray Rice model where the strong, push their way through the hole RBs are complimented with a passing game as opposed to the Larry Johnson getting killed every time out model. I don’t have any carries per game numbers to back this up, though.
But yeah, you’re right. 10 good years is a pipe dream.
LOLOLOL
running an RB through the tackles for 10 years is suicide. But if they can get him the ball in the open field every now and again it will prolong his effectiveness.
Check out these awesome classy shoes! Nothing beats that! http://bit.ly/14iPdVD
Only if the Browns draft Warmack.
