NBA News: Kyrie Irving to miss 3-to-4 weeks with shoulder sprain
March 11, 2013NFL Free Agency Rumor: Browns interested in Greg Jennings
March 11, 2013Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports (by way of PFT for us) that the Baltimore Ravens have traded Anquan Boldin across the country for a sixth-round pick.
While many Browns fans will be upset that the Browns didn’t get this deal, it is a pretty good bet that they never would have had the option to make a trade like that within the division. Considering the lofty numbers associated with Mike Wallace, Anquan Boldin’s $6 million salary figure looks pretty reasonable right about now.
All the talk of the Ravens wanting Boldin to take a pay cut were crazy, after all. With the market for receivers developing the way it has this off-season, there was no way Boldin would face a pay cut unless he thought the market for his services would have guaranteed him a smaller sum than $6 million. Even if he wanted to continue to play in Baltimore, there’s little doubt that had he been cut, he would have been able to replicate his financial future, if not improve it.
The only bright spot here for Browns fans is that they won’t have to see the former Eric Wright killer twice a year anymore in divisional match-ups.

That “only bright spot” is a pretty huge bright spot. I’ll take it. Nothing bad to see here at all.
so, a team relying on Boldin to make all the tough catches wins it’s division and goes to the SB. they get in an argument about his contract and ship him off in a trade.
Arizona went from 10-6 to 18-30 the 3 seasons post-Boldin
Baltimore?
(okay, yeah, Zona also lost this QB named Warner, but what fun is mentioning that tidbit?)
Skrine and Patterson are upset he is mentioned only as an Eric Wright killer. Boldin ate up little CBs for breakfast and left the stool on the goalline. So glad he is out of the division.
ftw
… so you’re saying when it’s soon time for Larry Fitzgerald to be traded for a 6th rounder we have a chance.
May the Cavs not be the only local recipient of senseless salary dumps.
Wow, I thought you wrote “sixth-round pick.” I gotta get my eyes checked.
Goes deeper then an argument I’m guessing Baltimore will use his money towards Ellerbe and maybe Reed with a home team discount. Just a guess.
Wonder what Joe Flacco’s thinking about now … other than “One more pina colada – just put it on the AMEX,” that is …
How do the Browns never get on the end of these ridiculous situations?
I’m guessing the Ravens will miss him more than they think. Jacoby Jones may have had that catch for the ages vs. Denver but if they have to line him up opposite Torrey Smith for 16 games, it may not be pretty. Or Ozzie will find some guy in the 5th round to catch 70+ balls and 8 TD’s (sigh).
Kind of a curious move for the 49ers. They already have a solid, possession-type receiver in Michael Crabtree. Boldin is definitely a step or two better than Crabtree but they still basically share the same skill set.
It was certainly an excellent game. This website shows interesting trivia about football and the Super Bowl, it pretty good. Excellent!!! http://www.priceperhead.com/
