NFL News: Baltimore Ravens trade Anquan Boldin to San Francisco 49ers
March 11, 2013NFL Free Agency Rumor: Ed Reed to the 49ers?
March 11, 2013We’ve heard plenty about potential targets for the Cleveland Browns in the last few days of free agency. But we hadn’t heard definitive interest in this WR star: Greg Jennings.
Jennings, 29, missed the majority of the 2012 season with the Green Bay Packers. He missed the season’s first game with a suspension from an off-the-field incident, then had a concussion and hernia surgery later in the year. It has remained up in the air for months because of his age and durability whether he would he able to reach a deal with the only team he’s known in his 7-year career.
NFL Net's @RapSheet on Greg Jennings: "I hear the #Packers are still trying to negotiate with him." Also mentioned #Vikings #Colts #Browns.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, via Evan Silva of Rotoworld on Twitter, mentioned the Browns tonight as one of several teams potentially interested in the services of Jennings. The quote was that the “Packers are still trying to negotiate,” but then the Vikings (who just traded Percy Harvin) along with the Colts and Browns are other potential suitors. The Dolphins, of course, also have been listed several times previously.
Along with Pittsburgh’s Mike Wallace — who we have seen mentioned in plenty of Cleveland rumors — Jennings and New England’s Wes Welker are the other two “elite” wide receiver targets this offseason. Some secondary options include Danny Amendola, Danario Alexander, Donnie Avery, Domenik Hixon, Brandon Gibson, et al.
Jennings — a second-round pick in 2006 out of Western Michigan — appeared in only 8 games in 2012, catching 36 balls for 366 yards and 4 touchdowns. It stands as the worst year of his career. His averages during the previous five seasons (thus, excluding his rookie year): 69 receptions, 1,108 yards and 8 touchdowns.

No they’re not.
I would be good with this. a guy coming off of an injury – a MINOR injury – with a history of being a very-good-to-good receiver when healthy. His price tag will have to be lower than Wallace and Welker because of the injury, but he has big game experience and seems to be professional.
I am not putting up banners but I am on board with this move.
Didn’t Greg Jennings say that where he signs depends on the QB? Good luck in Indy Greg Jennings.
The safest FA receiver choice for the Browns. Would be the first time in feels like forever that we had a savvy, reliable, productive guy – maybe first since Joe Jurevecius -running routes.
I also hear that he’s a great guy to have around, or a great “locker room presence”. I’d like him as well, but I’m also one of the few on the Danario Alexander train. More injuries, but he’s younger and has huge upside
Im not so sure about this pick. He’s decent, but also has Aaron Rodgers throwing to him. I guess if he doesnt demand too much money, then pick him up. But again, I am not so sure about this
the price would be the key for a 30yo WR who has only been able to start 18 of the past 32 games.
so we could have 30-year old Weeden throwing to 30-year old Greg Jennings? hahahahahahaha
I would love to know what kind of a suspension allows you to miss the game but still have five receptions. He has never been suspended. He’s a high character guy. Maybe not rah-rah leader type but high character / smart football player / great guy.
His concussion was during family night in the preseason and didn’t miss a regular season game due to it. The other games were missed due to an ab tear yet he played in two other games before having a second opinion and surgery.
He’s being pushed out because of money and depth at wide receiver (James Jones, Jordy Nelson, and Randall Cobb). Why pay him a ton of long term money when you have those guys?
Sign me up for “No Thanks”
He was a slot WR in GB, with a plethora of other talent besides him including Aaron freakin Rodgers. I don’t think he can really be used in our offense as a slot, what a coincidence considering I’ve been saying I think we could use Little like GB used Jennings. That is if you have a burner or two on the outside.. (MIKE WALLACE)
Maybe… but he’s not interested in them.
Greg Jennings has never been suspended for any kind of off-field behavior issues, he’s a high character guy.
