February 19, 2013While We’re Waiting… Tales of spring, where everyone is in the best shape of their life
February 20, 2013Brian Spaeth got jealous of Pete from Frowns because Brian had never done a podcast live, in person, in my house. As a result he came all the way out to the country to record one. He didn’t bring wine, but he did bring his own set of show notes so we’d have a lot to talk about.
Instead of my normal bullet points, here’s exactly what Brian brought for me.
- this list is topic one
- a turtlecall attempt at rizzo and goldhammer
- Drinking wine during the day
- Vin diesel Facebook
- Burger King Twitter hijacking
- How healthy do you think you are
- bionic hands and eyes
- immortality
- chef possessory credits on restaurants
- Twitter archive
- Michael Jordan
- Sadness frequency

I would say I’m a 6.5 to 7 in overall health. I eat well, play hockey two or three times a week for an hour-plus at a time, don’t over-indulge on the beer… but when I look at myself in the mirror I know that if I pushed through and went and lifted/did cardio at the gym two more days a week I’d be an 8 or 8.5 and feel a lot better about myself.
I enjoy the podcast quite a bit. And my health number is 6, and hopefully rising.
I’d say I’m also a 6-7. I don’t exercise nearly as much as I would like, getting gym time in solely on weekends. To your guys’ point, once the weather breaks, it’ll allow me to run during weeknights. I eat pretty well; the rest is wholly gym dependent as I’m very glacial while at work.
Regarding the sadness quotient — there are obviously different levels. Tough to give a firm number.
I’m probably at a 7 right now, given that I haven’t really been running much as of late (my long race in November wrecked my foot and I’m just now getting back into training). It’s all relative though — I’m probably closer to an 8-9 and I’m just being self-critical.
Why am I listening to a podcast about podcasts? Keep it to Cleveland Sports please! I think this podcast could benefit from some editing. I’ll politely say this most recent one tended to meander, and not in a good way.
Congrats on preparing for something! That seems like a real accomplishment for the two of you.
