NBA Rookie Rankings: Waiters and Zeller impress against Spurs
February 15, 2013WFNY Podcast – 2013-02-15 – @SteelersDepot talking Browns and the rest of the AFC North
February 15, 2013As suspected by many leading up to this weekend’s festivities, Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh will start in the All-Star game in place of injured point guard Rajon Rondo.
Miami Heat head coach Eric Spolestra was given the final decision and chose one of his players over other point guards in Cleveland’ s Kyrie Irving and Philadelphia’s Jrue Holiday. Bosh will start alongside teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade as well as Boston’s Kevin Garnett and New York’s Carmelo Anthony.
On the season, Bosh is averaging 17.7 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 55.5 percent from the field and 81.5 percent from the free throw line. Irving was widely considered to be the logical option to start the game due to his status as a player as well as his position, but many have speculated that the Heat head coach will opt to limit the time the Cavs guard spends with former Cavalier small forward LeBron James. There is also an element of loyalty and keeping his own players happy; Spoelstra’s decision satisfies both.

You suck, Spoelstra.
Bold move to start Bosh at the point. I confess I haven’t been paying much attention to the Heat this year so I wasn’t aware of the drastic progression his ball handling skills have made, but kudos to Spoelstra for having the courage to play the right guy at the right position.
wack.
Good. Wear them down. Play them the whole game…
Hmm, I think after this I might just have to root against the Heat.
You missed out. Bosh has been amazing since he switched to the point. He has excellent court vision, and is further developing his already sick crossover. Kyrie Irving gets all the hype, but Bosh will be the top guard in the league in a year or two. It was a no-brainer, really.
I never really disliked Eric Spolestra…. until about 30 seconds ago.
All I hear when Spoelstra speaks:
“I’m a tool, I’m a tool, I’m a tool, I’m a tool.”
What? Limit Irvings playing time with Lebron? Are they going to secretly plan to join the same team if they’re on the court together for too long?
Bunch of sour grapes posting in this article.
Newsflash: Cavs suck. Quite possibly the only All-Star in history whose team had such a garbage record.
Be happy if Miami doesn’t down right take him from you when he’s a FA.
Kyrie Irving S-U-C-K-S. Bosh would have a field day with him so don’t even think it’s a snub.
