While We’re Waiting… Pursuing Cousins?
January 2, 2013MLB News: Brett Myers’ deal with Indians worth reported $7 million
January 2, 2013Dirk Koetter has decided to stay with the Atlanta Falcons, at least through next season.
The OC was on many lists for head coaching interviews, including the Browns reportedly. From Fox Sports’ Alex Marvez–
“Atlanta finished the season with a franchise-record average of 281.8 passing yards a game as the Falcons went 13-3 to secure the NFC’s No. 1 playoff seed. Koetter made the decision after meeting Tuesday with Kansas City Chiefs management about the chance to replace the fired Romeo Crennel. The Chiefs also interviewed special-teams coordinator Keith Armstrong, a source told FOXSports.com.
Armstrong met Tuesday night with Chicago about their head-coaching vacancy as well, a source told FOXSports.com. As first reported Monday by FOXSports.com, Koetter also was set to interview with Philadelphia and Cleveland. Koetter, 53, interviewed with the Denver Broncos last January before they hired John Fox.”

Fine by me. Koetter wasn’t such a genius before he had Matt Ryan pulling the trigger. In fact I find there are few geniuses who have sub par QB’s. Hmmmm…
Already, I lament the Browns passing on the opportunity to hire someone whose name readily lends itself to a number of low-brow jokes.
