NFL Report: Colt McCoy might be in Browns’ future plans
January 5, 2013NFL Rumor: Bruce Arians wanted Browns coaching job “badly”
January 5, 2013One of the unusual hot coaching candidates on the rumor mill these days is Syracuse coach Doug Marrone. A former New Orleans saints offensive coordinator, Marrone, 48, already has interviewed with the Bills, and will interview soon with the Eagles and Chargers.
Reports then circulated yesterday that he also interviewed with the Browns earlier this week, and Plain Dealer reporter Mary Kay Cabot added this tidbit:
#Browns were "very impressed'' w/Syracuse HC Doug Marrone, whom they interviewed this week. He also talked to Bills and Eagles. Ex-Saints OC
— Mary Kay Cabot (@MaryKayCabot) January 5, 2013
All this news comes as the Browns remain in hot pursuit of Oregon head coach Chip Kelly, who is 49years old. Marrone also has had much limited college success, although he comes from an NFL background.

It’s not as if they’re going to say that they were underwhelmed.
Are they hedging their bets for when Kelly signs in Phi or goes back to Ore?
Does anyone else on their ipad have to sign into discus all the time?! So annoying
obviously trying to put the heat on Kelly to sign.
disqus – boo. It always makes me sign back in.

My thoughts exactly.
Mine stays logged in….but don’t ask me how.

Good Job Marrone.
