NBA Trade Rumor: Cavaliers, T-Wolves Talking Trade Involving Varejao
January 6, 2013Browns mishandling media during coaching search
January 6, 2013The Cavaliers announced this afternoon that they have waived forward Samardo Samuels.
Samuels, 23, played in 18 games (1 start) for the Cavaliers this season, averaging 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds while shooting just 37% and posting a 6.44 PER. His best season came two years ago when he averaged 7.8 points and 4.3 boards in 37 games (10 starts).
Samardo’s contract was non-guaranteed, but all non-guaranteed contracts become guaranteed in the next few days, so this was likely a move showing that the Cavaliers didn’t see him in their future plans. With Tristan Thompson and Tyler Zeller locking up plenty of time in addition to Anderson Varejao when he’s healthy, the Cavaliers have been taking a look at rookie Kevin Jones of late from the power forward slot. The team’s roster now stands at 14.

I honestly forgot he was still on the roster until I saw him in his bright yellow jumpsuit the other night. No real loss here.
I had always hoped the Samardo would get over the hump and become a good rotational player. Unfortunately he has regressed this year and fell out of favor with Scott. I wish him luck wherever he goes.
Making room possibly to accomodate a trade.
at his height he’ll probably snag another NBA roster spot within hours.

Always liked him but just never seemed to get to the next level. Good luck Samardo!
7 foot tall with some endurance or a soft-tossing lefty.
Perhaps a trade involving Varejao where the Cavs ultimately take on salary, draft picks, and hopefully an intriguing SF option. Everyone knows the best SF the Cavs have had (he got us to The Finals after all).
Suggested tying my son’s right hand behind his back but wifey got upset. And the rack was never in play, somewhat beyond the pale of local standards. Sure, kid, chase that liberal arts degree, why should you be happy.
Never belonged on an NBA team in the first place. Height doesn’t take you very far when you’re soft and dumb.
