I was at the Buffalo snow game in 2007 when Dawson drilled the 49-yard field goal in the second quarter. Everyone in our seats was like “What the h*** is going on? They’re attempting a field goal in this weather?!” Sure enough, he drilled it and the place went nuts. It was incredible, and I think this is just another example as to why he’s one of the best cold weather kickers of the last decade in the NFL.

The one that hit the camera and bounced out, which was originally ruled no good and correctly overturned

My favorite was back in 2007. As a senior in HS, I was visiting colleges down in Baltimore, and my father and I scheduled the visit so we could see the Browns and the Ravens on Sunday afternoon. Needing a FG at the gun to remain in the playoff hunt, Dawson hit the post, then what seemed like the cross bar, and bounced out. We all thought it was over, so we left. When we made it to the gate, a friend called me asking if I can believe what was happening, then we saw everyone running back inside and the call was changed, the FG was good. I’ve never seen anything like it before. We won that game after a great Cribbs return and an eventual, say it with me, Dawson FG. Priceless.

My favorite Dawson kick was the one that clanged off the crossbar and went through against the Ravens a few years ago. That was awesome.

The one that he made…but then didn’t make, but then did make. Was watching in the computer lab at school on GameCast. Once it said he missed I turned off the computer and walked home, only to find my buddies still watching the game in overtime in the family room!
Also, I made and posted this Phil picture on a Friday evening about a week ago….someone please make this a tshirt!

The Baltimore kick off the ‘Dawson Bar’ had more significance, but the hook through the wind and snow against Buffalo was the most incredible kick I have ever seen. The replay from the opposite endzone gives you the perspective of just how wide of the goal posts he kicked it. That distance, in those conditions – INCREDIBLE!

My favorite Dawson field goal is definitely the snow bowl winner against Buffalo when he hit it in a blizzard which caused me to doubt his ability to even see the uprights.
I agree. Give Garry the prize, he has won teh internetz.

My favorite Phil Dawson kick was in 1999 when he kicked the winning field goal to end the game against the Steelers. Cleveland on the road able to be the Steelers, because of Dawson’s 40 yard kick. There is no question that Phil’s best field goal should be in a Brown’s victory over the Steelers, at Pittsburg. Beating Bill Cowher makes it even better.

His kick in the snow against Buffalo. Amazing.
It would have to be the 2007 kick against the Ravens. I mean, they even named the bar after him. #DawsonBar

Easily the one @ Baltimore, great memory.

The Buffalo snow game
“Oh no he kicked it into the Phil Pole!”
“That WR was not paying attention to the Phil Pole and it just leveled him”

My favorite Phil F. Dawson field goal was a 49 yarder in a freaking blizzard. I couldn’t believe they even attempted it, yet alone nailed it. And he clipped the Dawson bar after going through for good measure. An amazing kick!

Definitely has to be the gooseneck field goal. I have never seen anything like it before or since!

All Phil Dawson field goals are tied for the greatest. That was a trick question.

My favorite Phil Dawson field goal was the one that inspired the rule named after him: in Baltimore to force OT.

Love the fake field goal where he scored the rushing touchdown on a toss from the holder. First rushing TD of the year in 1999!

My favorite was the bounce back against the Ravens…don’t see a play like that very often

He kicks in all types of weather and never misses. What’s not to like?

Of course it would have to be the kick that earned him his own rule. How many players in NFL history have a rule named after them?
Every one that has won a game. 🙂

My favorite Phil Dawson kick was the field goal off the “Dawson bar” to force OT. The 33-yard field goal then to win the game wasn’t bad either! What a great Brown!

It’s gotta’ be the Dawson Bar kick. So disappointing, so confusing, then so awesomely exhilarating. And it ultimately resulted in the city of Baltimore being really sad. Tough to beat.

December 16, 2007 vs. Buffalo in a blizzard, Phil nails 2 FGs (one from 49 yards). Meanwhile Derek Anderson wore an oven mitt.
