December 18, 2012#Browns SS T.J. Ward headed to IR with bone bruise on knee, league source confirms. Expect some roster moves announced later today.

Per Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal, the Cleveland Browns secondary took yet another hit this week as strong safety TJ Ward appears to be heading towards a season-ending placement on the Injured Reserve.
This news comes in addition to the team’s recent waiving of cornerback Dimitri Patterson. Ulrich expects that an announcement will be made regarding the roster spot, but with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos on the horizon, anything shy of Champ Bailey and Ronnie Lott being added to the team’s 53-man will leave the Browns at a considerable disadvantage.

well, we haven’t fired Childress and replaced him with Whipple, yet.
I assume that we knew Ward was going on IR before we cut Dmitri.
“well, we haven’t fired Childress and replaced him with Whipple, yet.”
If this does happen, and if it engenders a flurry of other drastic moves in Berea we’ll forever refer to this as the “Whipple Effect”
