Browns’ Joe Thomas calls Peyton Hillis’ time in Cleveland “toxic”
December 5, 2012Richardson: Browns can’t be satisfied with two-straight wins
December 5, 2012The Cleveland Indians could already have their contingency plan in place in the event that they part ways with All-Star shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera. Jon Morosi of FOX Sports reports that Tribe GM Chris Antonetti has been in discussion with the Los Angeles Dodgers for shortstop Dee Gordon.
#Indians talking with #Dodgers about Dee Gordon, sources tell @Ken_Rosenthal and me. Would replace Asdrubal if traded.

The 24-year-old Gordon has hit just .260/.299/.315 in 143 major league games, but he’s among the fastest players in baseball, stealing 24 bases in a shorted rookie season, adding 32 more in 2012.
At the start of 2011 he was the Dodgers’ best prospect according to Baseball America and would serve a dual purpose, replacing outfielder Shin-Soo Choo at the top of the Indians’ lineup.
The Indians are reportedly in talks with the Arizona Diamondbacks in a deal that would send Asdrubal Cabrera and net them starting pitcher Trevor Bauer.

Which makes ZER0 sense, since the Tribe has Aviles and eventually Lindor to man SS. With so many other organizational holes that need to be filled, why focus on SS?
MLB Rumors: Indians eyeing a disappointment to replace cabrera
fixed it for you.
Do all these winter meetings rumors count as a Silly Season if half the fans don’t believe anything they hear and the other half don’t care?
Unless Aviles will play 2B, and Kipnis returns to LF to plug that hole.
Anyone getting excited about Bauer might want to read this. It doesn’t make sense that they want to trade their #1 pick after one year.

Oh boy, there’s our big acquisition for the offseason.
I think Kipnis and his skillset are better for 2B. He doesn’t produce the numbers that an OF should, but is a good stick for 2B.
Dee Gordon eh? That should help – replacing Asdrubal and Choo with a guy who lit up minor league pitching at a .260 pace. At least he’s a good fit for the Indians need of players who “don’t make very much money”
Does the front office actually have a plan or are they just going thru the motions…trading thtwo best hitters to get ……hitters?????Trying to get young pitching prospects when two years ago we traded away two young pitchers to get Jimenez. It is hard to rationalize what they are trying to do, except cut the payroll…AGAIN!
huh? the thought is we trade Asdrubal for young pitching and then a couple medium prospects for Gordon.
