Shanahan: RG3 “day-to-day” with mild knee sprain
December 10, 2012While We’re Waiting… Lofton’s place in the game
December 11, 2012Ohio State’s defensive line was used to delivering big hits all season long, but it will have to do so in 2013 without one of its biggest pieces.
Ohio State announces defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins will forego his senior season to enter the NFL draft.

Hard to fault the big guy who thanked both Urban Meyer and Jim Tressel, who recruited him. Hankins draft prospects could obviously fluctuate wildly between now and draft day, but ESPN’s Mel Kiper already has the junior in his top twenty pretty consistently. CBS even has a couple of mock drafts that have him going #19 to Dallas and #14 to New Orleans. So there’s that.

I think Hankins is going to be a mild disappointment in the pros. He’s huge and can definitely take up space, but his motor is severely lacking in my opinion. Everyone praised his mobility, but I rarely saw him in the backfield making plays. He’ll have to prove that he has that mean streak that scouts love or I fear he’ll drop to the bottom of round 1.
Mangini also loves high motors….
Next man up.
sort of surprised he’s listed as a mid-1st round pick with such a deep class of DL this draft (assuming some of the Jr’s come out).
let’s wish him continued success as long as he doesn’t end up in Pitt, Baltimore or Cinci
