Game 13 : Browns vs. Chiefs open thread

The Browns possess their first winning streak of the year heading into Sunday’s matchup vs. Kansas City. Cleveland has won two in a row, and four out of their last seven.

The Brownies are 6.5 point favorites against the 2-12 Chiefs. The Chiefs have been the NFL’s worst team, but played their best game in a 27-21 win last week over Carolina.Several former Browns have prominent roles with the Chiefs these days. Quarterback Brady Quinn, running back Peyton Hillis, head coach Romeo Crennel, and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll all spent time in Cleveland.

Although the Browns have been winning of late, fans still crave an end to end decisive victory. With the Browns almost a touchdown favorite over Kansas City, hopes are high that this will be the week Cleveland gets the convincing win fans crave so badly.

In case you missed the Joe Thomas and Peyton Hillis catfight, relive it below in this week’s WFNY Brown’s coverage.

It’s not a losing season until they lose 9 games. Go Browns!!!

  • FearTheRoo

    Are the Browns losing yet?

  • C-Bus Kevin

    Wow…that didn’t take long. Good grief…

Seems like they already pushed the “Panic” button in the 1st quarter… no commitment to the run game…

  • saggy

not really sure why they drafted Trent Richardson if they’re gonna throw the ball 40-50 times a game.

Browns up 17-7. Now, will Shurmur put the foot down on the gas when they get the ball back on offense, or will he play as conservative as possible?

  • mitch6632

Nice to see some creativity on that last drive…. more importantly, nice to see it work!

  • C-Bus Kevin

I’m not hoping for injuries, but it’s nice to see the Browns dishing out the punishment again this week.

And just as I type this, INTERCEPTION for the Browns. Now come on Pat. Be agressive…get the touchdown…put this game all but away!

  • mitch6632

Solid D after the issues in the first quarter!

  • mitch6632

Lack of a TD on this short field can’t be blamed on Shurmur. Bad offensive pass interference call and bad execution on the snap…

  • C-Bus Kevin

Only the family-friendly nature of this site is keeping me from expressing my true emotions regarding that pass interference call on Trent Richardson.

I’m going to be interested in hearing what the Shurmur haters complain about this week. You can tell how much he’s improving his in-game decisions. And there is solid development of these young players. And lastly, the entire team is playing harder than recent years.

    nice game

I hate to admit it but it does seem I’m seeing improvement

I wouldn’t say I’m a hater as I do not want to start over with a new coach but I am not sure super bowl quality coaches lose early 3rd quarter challenges when its first and goal at the 1. Just saying…

Obviously it’s on him for going through with it, but I’d put that one on whoever told him to challenge it from the booth. They must have thought it was a for sure touchdown (which I still don’t know how it was called confirmed)

  • Hypno_Toad

Why would you hate to admit that? Isn’t that what we all wanted in the first place?
