NFL Report: Steelers to start Batch at QB against Browns

If the Steelers want to extend their recent dominance over the Browns, they will have to do so with third string QB Charlie Batch

“NFL.com’s Aditi Kinkhabwala reports that Charlie Batch will start at quarterback Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, according to a source with direct knowledge of the Steelers’ plans. Kinkhabwala confirmed ESPN’s Chris Mortensen’s report that backup quarterback Byron Leftwich sustained fractured ribs. “

The report would add that the Steelers have no plans to add to the roster this week, but that would seem nearly foolish. As has been said around Lake Erie today, Seneca Wallace is available.

well, batch has sadly beaten us before in replacement for roeth.

how did he not beat out Leftwhich though? maybe he’s finally too old?

is Seneca Wallace any better than Dennis Dixon? and at least he knows the team.

  • BuckeyeDawg

The Ravens signed Dennis Dixon the day after Roethlisberger got hurt. In related news, Ozzie Newsome is brilliant.

That’s a Fantasy Football move. I love it. Wish Ozzie was still a Brown.

    it is hilarious.

what is strange though is that he is only on their PS. and he apparently rebuffed the idea of trying out for the Pitt active roster.

apparently he’s salty about how things went there?

  • Note to self: pick up and start Charlie Batch in all fantasy leagues this week. Including basketball leagues. That’s how much of a sure thing it is that he’ll inevitably look like a Hall of Famer against us.

If Short-Bus Shurmur blows this game with his inept coaching, I’m pretty sure Haslam fires him immediately afterwards. Good news after this game is that we have three winnable games following (at Oakland, KC, and Wash.) Hopefully we give enough thanks tomorrow and can beat both yellow-pants teams we despise at home.
