NFL News: Browns’ Richardson nominated for two weekly awards

Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson has been nominated for two awards following his 122-yard performance this past Sunday during the team’s 7-6 win over the San Diego Chargers: he is one of three finalists for the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week award and one of five finalists for the Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Week award.

The 122 yards mark Richardson’s career best where he averaged 5.1 yards per carry, also adding the game’s only touchdown. He is joined by Tampa Bay’s Doug Martin (135 yards on 29 carries and one touchdown) and New England’s Stevan Ridley (127 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown) for the FedEx Ground award; Martin, Indianapolis’ Vick Ballard and Andrew Luck, and Minnesota’s Andrew Smith for the Pepsi MAX award.

Richardson and Browns fans can vote at NFL.com/FedEx and NFL.com/rookies until 3 p.m. Friday to determine the winners.
