Earlier in the week we talked about the likelihood of Hakeem Nicks suiting up for the Giants. Now his replacement, Ramses Barden, might be doubtful too with a concussion.
“He complained of a headache and asked if he could be evaluated,” Coughlin said, via the team. “They sent him for the evaluation yesterday. I think a lot of the symptoms were okay, but there was enough there to slow him down. He is on the (concussion) protocol.”
So the Browns secondary might get a much-needed break in having to watch Victor Cruz and a bunch of guys further down the depth chart. If Nicks and Barden can’t go, that removes the second and third most receiving yards on the team from the roster that will face the Browns. The next group of names on the depth chart are Domenik Hixon, Reuben Randle and Jerrel Jernigan.
Interesting, though, that the NFL and concussions have at least gotten to the point that a player was willing to ask to be evaluated and at least as far as we know, hasn’t been ostracized by teammates or team staff.
