NFL News: Scott Fujita Speaks Out About Replacement Refs

Cleveland Browns linebacker Scott Fujita played his first game of the season Sunday, and today decided to voice his displeasure about the replacement officials working the games.

Fujita is a member of the NFLPA’s executive committee, and was part of the negotiations for the current CBA.

Shut up and play scott. Still pissed about you not playing game 1. Be a leader, LEAD

  • bossman09

    Fine coming in 3… 2…1…

  • ^ Just stop.

  • Yeah, the replacement refs aren’t as good as the actual refs.. shut up and play football, and let the league vs. the refs (or vice/versa) play-out with out your 2 cents… no one cares what you think Scott, just play football…

  • he’s right, so the rest of you can shut up and hit the gym, or walmart, or whatever it is that you do

  • NoVA Buckeye

Still trying to figure out how this could draw a fine… he was stating the obvious and pointed out a flaw that isn’t acceptable in officiating.
Call me crazy and sore, but did it feel like to anyone that the refs were trying to lose the game for Cleveland during some ponts?

The last sentence of this post is the most important… because if Fujita really wanted to do something about the issue, he wouldn’t be sending tweets about it, he’d be starting serious discussions with the players union about a strike if the NFLs deal with the refs isn’t hammered out.

He’s right and I give him credit for saying that in the face of just coming off of an overturned suspension. He’s got brass.

  • Steve

Because, even if you are right, you don’t undermine the business in public. This is an in-house issue. If one really wanted to do something to fix the situation, they would talk to the right people, not complain on twitter.

  • Steve

Alright Scott, we will gladly accept a cut in your salary (and whatever other players necessary) to appease all the demands of the refs – Roger.

it’s just the NFLPA feigning solidarity with the NFLRA (or whatever their acronym is). nothing more.

if the NFLPA truly cared, then they would have insisted the referees negotiations got taken care of at the same time as theirs last summer.

Excellent, then I’m off to Bojangles!

  • BenRM

Generally, I’ve been annoyed with everything he’s said in the off season, but on these points, I agree with him.

  • BenRM

Personally, I was more upset he played in game 2

  • Natedawg86

Prob more pissed about him saying he was not ready, and therefore would not consider playing. I wanted him to be cut after that, and how decent the LBs played game 1. Not good but not awful

  • Go Browns

I missed LJ Fort more than regular officials. Big slow step back with 99. Now if we could find a fullback. Marecic has to go.

What a bunch of low life scabs. You tell em Fujita
