Scott Fujita, Jordan Norwood Among Inactives For Browns Vs. Eagles
September 9, 2012Week 1 Open Thread: Browns Vs. Eagles
September 9, 2012There’s been plenty of noise that third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall’s return was imminent, and the Indians announced Sunday morning that they have activated him off the 60-day disabled list. Manny Acta said on Friday that he expected the prospect to join the team on their current road trip. Chisenhall will not be in the lineup on Sunday, however, and Acta indicated he would likely not play every day as he works his way back from an arm injury. He is available off the bench for the third in a four-game set against the Twins.
Chisenhall was beaned just above the wrist by Orioles pitcher Troy Patton at the end of June. He was expected to miss 10-12 weeks, and he’s been rehabbing in Akron with the Aeros as they compete in the Eastern League playoffs. He was hitting .278 with three homers and nine RBIs in 24 games with the Tribe this season.
