Tribe Recalls Scott Barnes
July 8, 2012Cavalier Thoughts: Hope And Patience In A Hopeless And Impatient NBA
July 8, 2012The news just keeps getting worse for Nick Hagadone. It turns that following his poor performance with the Indians on Friday night, the Tribe left-handed reliever suffered a self-inflicted injury to his left wrist and reportedly broke a bone in his left hand (per Matt Underwood on today’s telecast). As a result, Hagadone has been placed on the minor league disqualified list, which prevents him from getting paid for the extent of his injury. He will have the hand examined tomorrow by Dr. Tom Graham at the Cleveland Clinic tomorrow.
Hagadone allowed two of Justin Masterson’s inherited runners to score then gave up two more of his own on Friday night. His season stats with the Tribe included a 1-0 record with a 6.39 ERA. In 25 1/3 innings pitched, he allowed 26 hits, 15 walks, and 26 strikeouts. In recent outings, he had lost his command of the strike zone and had been hit hard, giving up runs in 5 of his final 7 appearances.

when you get in a fight with a drunk you don’t hit him with your pitching hand
Nice!
He punched that mirror hard.
I admit, I’m not familiar with the details of the rules, but quick question: Could the Indians have agreed to pay him while he recovers from injury, or are they not allowed to?
How did the injury occur?
Wish he had worked a 2-for-1 deal with Doc Graham and left-hooked that roster spot waste that is Damon.
