WFNY’s 2012 NBA Draft Roundtable
June 28, 2012Zach McAllister called up; will start tonight vs Orioles
June 28, 2012Tom Reed from the Cleveland Plain Dealer is covering the NFL Rookie Symposium in the Cleveland area and all indications are that proximity to the Hall of Fame in Canton could keep the event in Ohio for the foreseeable future.
Troy Vincent, the league’s vice president of player engagement, told The Plain Dealer on Wednesday that the centralized location and the proximity to the Pro Football Hall of Fame makes the area an ideal spot to conduct the rookie orientations, which stress the sport’s legacy, tradition of character and leadership and professional responsibility.
According to sources close to WFNY (my brother drove by this morning,) the rookies are spending their time at The Bertram Inn in Aurora. If you’ve ever been there, you know that it is about as nice as any meeting facility could be. Sure, it doesn’t have much proximity to an exciting nightlife unless you count a suburban Buffalo Wild Wings or Panini’s, but that’s probably not a knock on the location from the NFL’s standpoint.
As an aside, I read on Twitter yesterday from P.J. Ziegler that Browns rookies arrived in uniform yesterday. They were wearing white Browns polo shirts and khakis. It may not mean anything, but who doesn’t like the sound of team unity?

The “Aurora” BW3’s is THE premier night spot of all of northeast Ohio. If they want to get crazy, there’s always Streetsboro’s night clubs.
Everyone knows Streetsboro’s night clubs resemble a cross between a Jerry Springer show and the Star Wars cantina
I work in Aurora and I drive by this place daily. Nice to see lots of NFL trucks and news reporters out there. I hope they do keep it here.
