This one was rough. Jason Kipnis hit another home run, Sin-Shoo Choo had a two-run double, but the Jenmar Gomez couldn’t keep the Pirates in the yard (not that the Indians’ defense helped them out). The the Tribe trailing 5-4, Asdrubal Cabrera’s fifth inning fielding/throwing error gave the Pirates two runs and extended the inning for Pirates’ 3B Pedro Alvarez. Alvarez proceeded to smack his second three-run bomb of the day (in his second straight multi-homer game) to send Gomez to the showers and breaking the game open 9-4 (the Tribe began the fifth with a 4-3 lead).
The Indians welcome the Cincinnati Reds to Progressive Field at 7:05 on Monday night.

Yaayy for pitching.
We lost 2 of out 3 to the Pirates after getting swept by the Reds. Is it 1979, or has our team hit a terribly rough patch?
well, we can’t pitch and our hitting is suspect, hmmm sounds about right for both.
we do have a catcher with an uncanny eye for getting BBs in both cases too. the ’79 version hit for more power and a better BA though (Mike Hargrove)
ugh…it had to be 2 of 3 to Pittsburgh.
As if we don’t get to hear enough about how they own us in the Fall/Winter.
