Game Two: Tribe turns to Ubaldo
April 7, 2012While We’re Waiting… Early Tribe Worries, Charge Make the Playoffs, Tracking the Browns Draft Visits, and Never Trust Anything on Twitter
April 8, 2012Well, at least Ubaldo Jimenez pitched well. The Tribe did their best to mirror their opening day debacle, complete with the strong starting performance, weak hitting and 9th inning mishap from the pen (with Vinnie Pestano doing the honors), the multiple extra innings and all the way down to the final score. Good times.
Derek Lowe goes for the Tribe tomorrow.

Starting pitchers have thrown 15 innings of 3 run, 3 hit baseball. 13K’s and 4BB’s.
And yet here we are, 0-2.
(sigh)
Meanwhile, Detroit looks just as tough as everyone thought. Maybe even better.
It’s okay the Indians management was right all along…we didn’t need any hitters…
look at it this way: the tribe’s undefeated through 9 innings…
our bullpen’s pretty bad, isn’t it?
It’s two games. I’ll take last years sample size of very good pitching from the pen vs. the two out of 163 games this year. If this continues for a month then sure, but to say that the pen is pretty bad is shortsighted at best.
If only there was some major big hitter available last off-season…
I already suffered through enough inept offense last Browns season (and of course the years before). I don’t think I can tolerate watching another crappy offense.
It’s gonna be like this all season guys, get used to it. 2 or 3 runs a game, some wins, a lot of losses, etc.
Probably sure the Indians will have outbursts enough to raise the average runs per game but I think it was pretty clear the lineup was lacking. You can’t have your corner infield positions average 10 homeruns at best and expect otherwise.
Is it to early to say a win is needed today?
I wouldn’t have it any other way. The Browns are stuck in neutral with McCoy and have lost their best offensive player, the Cavs are playing unwatchable basketball while getting pounded week-in week-out, and the Indians have sucked all the life out of the city in just two games. Yep, that’s about right…
