NFL Draft Rumor: Rams and Redskins agree to trade for No. 2 Pick
March 9, 2012While We’re Waiting… Kyrie Irving is Good, Cavs Don’t Need Cap Space, Mark Cuban’s Gay Joke, and Going Against the Holmgren Rule
March 10, 2012There was no hangover from Sunday’s regular season title clinching win in East Lansing for the Ohio State Buckeyes. As the third-seeded Buckeyes got started in the Big Ten Conference Tournament, they got a good challenge from the sixth seed, the Purdue Boilermakers. Purdue drilled 12 three-pointers and trailed by just 4 points with 7 minutes left. OSU, however, used an inside-out strategy as Jared Sullinger (3o points, 12 rebounds) and Deshaun Thomas (22 points, 7 rebounds) didn’t miss much at all around the basket and controlled the glass as the Buckeyes advanced to the Big Ten Semifinals tomorrow with a 88-71 win. Ohio State used a 17-2 run to pull away from the Boilers as William Buford caught fire at the right time. The defense, led by Thomas, held Robbie Hummel to just 6 points on 2-of-8 shooting. Sharpshooter D.J. Byrd led Purdue with 20 points and four three pointers. The Buckeyes face second-seed and fellow co-champion Michigan at approximately 4:00 Saturday afternoon.
