NFL Combine News: OT Mike Adams talked with Browns about move to RT

Former Ohio State Buckeye Mike Adams had his turn at the scale and in front of the mic in Indianapolis Thursday. Adams was measured at 6’7″ and weighed 323 pounds. According to Adams, he has been asked by a couple of teams about the possibility of switching to right tackle in the pros. Cleveland and Washington are two of those teams he mentioned. He said he was open to the move.

“If my name is called in the first round, I can’t even explain how that would feel.”

The Browns own the 4th and 22nd picks in the first round of the draft. Scouts Inc. has him as the 19th rated player in the draft.

Couldn’t they find someone a little bigger?

Seriously, would love to have him in a Browns uni…but I’m not sure you use a mid-1st rounder on a RT, and I doubt he will still be there for our 2nd round pick.

I have no problem taking him at 22 if he is going to be a can’t miss RT on our line for the next 10 years. Mack, Thomas and Adams would guarantee good to great lines every year.

I have no problem taking him at number 4!  We need to win the war in the trenches to turn this team around!

well, Reiff would be there at #4 and is generally considered a better OT and also a better RT prospect.

(I don’t know that Adams will be there at #22 though as he’s finally getting the respect he deserves and may very well end up the 3rd OT off the board)
