No Kyrie, no problem? Cavs fans were stunned to find out just moments before tipoff that Kyrie Irving would miss the game with a concussion. Everyone was eager for a Kyrie-CP3 matchup, but instead it was Ramon Sessions who provided a monster game in leading the Cavaliers to a huge win. Sessions had 24 points, 13 assists and limited Chris Paul to 16 points on 5-16 shooting from the field. Antawn Jamison again lead all scorers with 27 points and Anderson Varejao chipped in another double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds despite having to go to the locker room in the 3rd quarter with a back injury after an ugly fall.
An enormous confidence boosting win without their young rookie PG, the Cavaliers can feel great about winning this one as a team, with a lot of effort and suffocating defense that kept the Clippers’ offense looking disorganized for much of the night. Now all eyes will be on Irving and whether or not he will miss any more time.

If this were the Browns, someone would immediately conclude that Sessions clearly should be the starter over Kyrie moving forward. :::sigh:::
All seriousness, if this doesn’t help skyrocket Sessions’ trade value nothing will, and it’s nice to see Jamison putting up some consistent very good games as well to perhaps create some value there as well. (That said, I hope they don’t rush to trade either – I think it’s important for the development of Kyrie, T2 and others that they’re around a bit more.)
How does an NBA player get a concussion? Is there data on NBA players who’ve suffered concussions and how that affects them afterward? Not to sound panicked, but I AM from Cleveland, after all… :::PANIC:::
I really like Sessions and hope he can remain as our back up point guard if he wants to play in Cleveland. They should offer an extension or contract before the deadline and if he doesn’t accept then they have to trade him rather than let him walk in the offseason for nothing
Ramon Sessions is a MAN ! What a solid, professional performance. While Chris Paul spent all of his energy complaining every call and trying to play “ref”, Ramon went about his business by directing his energy towards helping his team win ! The Clippers will eventually implode this year once Martin and Evans get out of control without the veteran guidance of Billips. The Cavs can play with anyone if they make their shots.
hard to get too excited about this moving forward as the victory was spurred by 2 guys that wont be here too much longer ( jamison and sessions)
but…
if it increased their trade value thats a bonus
and I agree with the first comment,, Im a little ( ok a lot) panicked by the sudden concussion like symptoms
Don’t fear the playoffs…FEAR THE CAVS!!!
I’d love to see this team stick a thorn in the side of a 2 or 3 seed in the playoffs. It would be a great “back from the depths” comeback story after being left for dead just 2 years ago.
Im impressed by your optimism, especially since im sitting waiting for the “KI has vertigo” headline to come through
