12 days of Christmas

12 Days of a Cleveland Christmas: Day 9

Lloyd Braun was yesterday’s winner of a Factory of Sadness t-shirt and Joe Tait book. Congratulations!

Let’s get right to today’s giveaway. As always, here is the way the contest works-

Every weekday from now until Christmas Eve, we will give away a Cleveland themed prize. To enter, you need only to respond in the comment section in the appropriate manner. The winner each day will be randomly selected and notified by email. (Which means you better make sure that the email address you use to comment here is a legit one.) I cannot guarantee delivery by Christmas. Some of the prizes (like tickets) haven’t even been printed and mailed to us yet. We’ll do our best with the things we have in hand though. Only one member of a household can enter each day, and only one winner per household during the length of this contest. Just spreading the love around.

Today’s Prize

More tickets to give away today. Today’s winner will get a pair of tickets to see the Cavaliers take on the New York Knicks on January 25th. Could Baron Davis be on the floor for the Knicks? Could be, depending on that back of course. The winner will also get a copy of Dan Coughlin’s book “Pass the Nuts”.

Today’s question

Baron Davis wasn’t in Cleveland for long, but helped the team win a huge game against the Heat. What Cleveland  role player or player who wasn’t here long do you have a soft spot for, and why? (Can be any Cleveland team.)

Comments must be posted by midnight Cleveland time in order to qualify for the drawing. Check back tomorrow at noon for the results. Remember, only one entry is allowed, but you may still comment to add to the discussion.

Dave Zastudil. Seemed like anytime he launched a punt for the bumbling Browns of the Crennel/Mangini years, it was usually a goodie.

Just curious, does anyone remember Ben Gay, Browns RB? Wonder what happened to the one-year wonder. Plus, the name’s kinda cool. I think it was the early 2000s (2001?), my memory needs refreshed.

My mom was always a big Candy Maldanado fan….she said it just sounded like a great baseball name….as far as mine….

Tribe – Not sure why, but was a big fan of David Justice and David Segui during their short times in town….I think it was the white batting gloves.

Brownies – Tim Couch….I always get pissed when I see him on the biggest bust lists. He led this new pathetic franchise to the freaking playoffs before getting hurt. I think if Tim stays healthy and Holcombe never plays that playoff game, he’s wrapping up a pretty decent career with the Brownies.

Cavs – Flip Murray & Delonte

Gotta be Delonte West. Dude was crazy but there was no doubt he could play. I really hope he stuck it to Gloria.

  • Connor B

Chris spielman. Ohio guy that was suppose to be an emotional leader for the browns. Commitment to family and injury prevented that, but respect his choice.

DAMON JONES!!! For his last-second-game-winner, in the playoffs, against Washington. Also, I was a fan of Joe Jurevicius and Scott Player.

Lorenzo White – I remember as a kid when he played for the Oilers he always killed us, so when the Browns signed him in 95 I was pumped. It was one of those if you can’t beat em, join em things, and I thought he would take us to the promise land.

  • Jaker

Lou Merloni, for that walk off against Mariano and the Yanks. It was on my thirteenth birthday.

…Also Ben Wallace cuz he was a terrific player

Scott Player – old school one-bar face mask and (most importantly), THE MOO’STACHE!!!!

too late to qualify and I don’t care:

Russell Branyan (the 3rd or 4th tour here). Just for the jokes. We needed the laughs man and you helped give them to us. Many thanks.
