Browns “Endorsing” Pat Shurmur Becomes “Hot Seat” Headline
November 13, 2011Browns Outplay Rams and Lose Anyway
November 13, 2011The Cleveland Browns host the St. Louis Rams in a Week 10 clash of last place teams. Pat Shurmur faces his old club, which is a lowly 1-7 and, save for the Colts, could very well be the worst team in the league. The Rams were simply not competitive in the first six weeks of the season, but have improved over the past two weeks with a win over the Saints and an overtime loss to the Cardinals. Quarterback Sam Bradford has had an unimpressive season thus far, and enters the game hobbled by an ankle injury. The Browns have plenty of injury problems of their own, as running backs Montario Hardesty and Peyton Hillis are both out, in addition to Mohammed Massaquoi and T.J. Ward. Our weekly “Browns Will Win If” preview can be found here.
The 1-7 Rams may be the Browns last, best chance for a W before they enter the rugged AFC North portion of the schedule. Follow along all afternoon in the comments section.

I’m bored is NASCAR on yet?
without googling, can you tell me what NASCAR stands for?
You know what this game needs…more camera shots of Hillis looking disappointed.
Fast cars, beer and toothless women
National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). I think.
Browns have their customary 6 points but I feel one more MVP kick coming.
i like that norwood moves with control. he doesn’t just glide out of bounds when he catches an out pattern. he put his foot down and cut up for 2 yards. that means something to me.
Holy crap a pass more then 20 yards…stop the presses. Btw Holmgren must have paid Mora for all the PR work in this game.
I wish McCoy had a stronger arm…
One more shot. Can they do it?
Noooooo Mooooooore
Nope.
PD4 time!
sure glad the Browns saved that timeout.
Oh yea Dawson 3-3 Pro Bowl
NBC has figure skating…just saying
I’d love to see a breakdown of FGs vs TDs in the redzone for Schurmur vs Mangini. The Browns might be trying harder to score TDs this year, but I doubt there’s much of a difference.
Call it blasphemous, call me a hater, but I am on the “suck for Luck” bandwagon. The Dolphins and Rams are both capable of a couple more wins. The Q is whether the colts will deal that 1st pick and how many years Manning might have left.
@60. Me too. If Rogers throws that ball it’s a TD.
I thought that was a PI on the STL defender. tough.
I agree, that should have been an offsetting penalty. Wouldn’t have changed the end result, ball on the 10 they’d have kicked with 5 ticks.
Of the last 40 Browns points, 34 have been scored from a Phil Dawson kick.
@69, I was being sarcastic, he hit him in stride. The CB caught up to him.
bobby, not only do i agree with you, but i feel that facemask was very weak.
loving our LBs getting their hands on some passes thus far. They’re actually doing something positive this game.
@Pepe
His name is Aaron Rodgers and you’re ability to tell the future is going to waste commenting on a website like this.
I mean you KNOW that had Rodgers thrown that pass it’s a touchdown.
If I had that sort of X-men mutant ability i’d be saving the world or predicting the lottery or swooning exotic women, not knocking the Browns on a blog all day.
Taylor chasing down SJAX. Nice…
@ 73 Wac. he def hit him in stride. It’s a nice change from his usual deep passes that seem to float to the WR as he fair catches it.
@Wacman
SARCASM FONT! 🙂
@Christopher, I was here for that and totally forgot… Fail lol
Phil Taylor just blew that play up. Wow!
Most Browns fans are mutants anyways how else can you explain 11 years and still hoping.
Actually I don’t see how that was NOT taken as sarcastic.
Font or not.
Ugh, so sick of the Celtic troll and his nowhere near clever humor.
LoL @ Christopher I thought I had a few good ones but your right, we do sports not comedy. That YouTube clip from the Cleveland comic was good. Commence watching misery.
@75. That pass had more hang time than a punt. Little had both defenders beat by three steps and had to slow down to catch it. I’m glad it was a nice throw. I cheered. Good job, Colt. But let’s not use that pass as proof of arm strength. A dude with a gun would have put the ball in his hands a good second earlier and Little probably strides into the end zone.
What a catch from Watson!!!!!
@Pepe
Derek Anderson has a gun for an arm….how’s he doing?
@85, IF ONLY WE HAD A QB WHO COULD THROW THE BALL 50 YARDS DOWNFIELD IN A TIGHT SPIRAL IN THE WIND BY LAKE ERIE
.
Oh wait, we do…
@87 you’re changing the subject. I’ll take that as a “i agree with you pepe.”
c’mon, christopher. that’s too easy.
Jeff George had maybe the best arm in history. I can’t remember which super bowl he won, though. can you help me out?
or should i just go to Canton to read his plaque to learn that info?
Colt has looked good so far, but the play calling still has me scratching my head. Why no throws into the endzone once in the red zone?
Also, no third quarter touchdowns this year.
Thanks Saggy…clearly in Pepe’s world “dude with a cannon” trumps a cerebral accurate QB.
Aaron Rodgers happens to be both. He was a first round draft pick who sat behind Brett Favre for three years…Colt is a third round selection who was thrown into two different offensive systems in as many years.
Yeah, there does seem to be a difference between the two.
im still waiting for the Dawson 50+ yarder
@Shamrock
by the way, Julio Jones today: 2 catches for 9 yards. Why aren’t you talking him up today? can’t understand it. you were all about him last week.
if his stats stand, his numbers after week 10 are:
30 receptions, 498 yards, and 2 TDs. That stinks. that’s 3 balls and 49 yards a game. and throw in the TD every 5 games.
BTW Pepe…I’m just ribbing at you. Not trying to be a jerk. 🙂
Good Grief.
Oh. Em. Gee.
Haden drops a pick and Cribbs gets stripped… Yucky series of events for the Browns…
Saggy I wasn’t talking him up but I’d still take him. Amazing.
I enjoy when the announcer calls him Phillip Taylor.
