Open Thread: Browns vs. 49ers

The Browns are wearing mustaches, approaching today’s game as a business trip, and fresh off a three point win at home over the Seattle Seahawks heading into today’s tilt with the 49ers.  Even with all those things pointing to an inevitable Browns win today though, they still most certainly have their hands full.  Frank Gore is a load, and Jim Harbaugh has these Niners playing like they think they can beat anybody.  I imagine they certainly think they can beat the Browns too for that matter, and according to Vegas they’re supposed too.  Underdogs by over a TD (-9) on the West Coast today at 4pm Cleveland time, the Browns offense will have to spring to life big time in order to get this thing done today.  And that Browns defense will need to seriously take care of business too.

I’m starting said defense in my fantasy game today too by the way, and for some reason have a real positive feeling about this one.

Anyways, for more on what the Browns need to do specifically to win today’s game, here is the link to BWWI posted on Friday over at StillWFNY.

Here we go Brownies, here we go.

Last thing- How do we punt from their 40 they get and dont get them inside the 10 but they punt from their 20 and pin us at the 8, granted with the help of holding on us. Then we punt again and they get it over the 50! Are you KIDDING me?

    Colt is a bum too.

Hey shurmur…just an FYI, you’re not fooling anyone running play action on 3rd and long (three times now). All that does is give the pass rushers more time to get to the QB in an obvious passing situation. Perhaps you should whip out that coaching in the NFL for dummies book and skim a few more pages.

Ok lets kill some clock again and keep it respectable!

  • -bobby-

I lied im not done. Can we please come out in a hurry up? I dont care if we just start playing back yard ball and lining up and winging it. Heck, itd prolly look better then what weve seen so far.

I like how Jauron is just dialing it up every down right now basically saying “I’m going to make sure I am able to get a job somewhere when this regime changes over again”

  • Harv 21

why shotgun on third and 1 again?

  • christopher

Did I just see McCoy waive off Shurmur and run a sneak himself?

  • TSR3000

    This is Oakland all over

    3rd and 12…under center…play action…sack…

Who is buying that fake hand off…WHO??? I’m starting to come to the conclusion that it’s nearly impossible to tell if any of the Browns offensive players are any good with this gameplan.

  • christopher

At what point does McCoy go all “Bernie Kosar” on Shurmur and say “we done running your plays yet?”

  • TSR3000

    I have br

  • christopher

It’s been ALL year to, every defense knows that McCoy is going under center on 3rd and long and will play action from the 8 hours of tape you can pull on us being in 3rd and long situations.

  • TSR3000

    Facemask arghhhhhhjhjjj

  • TSR3000

We are conceding 12 yard slants?!!??

  • The Other Tim

They have better receivers on their OL than we have on our WR Corps.

  • saggy

remember the year that Michigan ran that tight-end slip pass every 3 plays? the buckeyes never adjusted, even though everyone watching knew it was there. HOW THE HELL DID THE BROWNS NOT EXPECT THAT PLAY-ACTION TIGHT-END PASS?

  • TSR3000

    Saggy/Tim- no kidding. Pathetic.

  • -bobby-

Im not blaming the D. Sure itd be nice to see Our CBs up on the WRs on the last drive, but the O, playcalling, and Shurmer deserve the credit for the loss.

  • -bobby-

    And McCoy.

  • Shawn

You know your offense is terrible when the best playcall is a punt. Anytime they get the ball on their side of the field, they should just punt it back and hope for better than next time.

  • typo

How can we be in this position again??? All I want is progress, or at least some accountability. Sadly we get none. Schurmur is a baffoon.
