Contest Time: Anniversary of Ten Cent Beer Night
June 4, 2010While We’re Waiting: North Royalton’s Champ, Chris Grant, Expansion, and Han Solo and Noel Gallagher
June 5, 2010Address your fantasy roster as necessary, folks. The Indians announced today that Grady Sizemore underwent successful microfracture surgery to his left knee. Going into the surgery it was unclear the extent of the damage that Sizemore had suffered – the surgery was originally planned to be a scope procedure. Now the Indians will be without their center fielder for the duration of the season, though the team said via press release that Sizemore should be able to return during spring training next season in the Cactus League.
Sizemore was batting .211 in 33 games played so far this season.

Lame..
.211 shouldnt be hard to replace
is it safe to call grady a bust of a contract too?
Denny, on behalf of dozens of Indians fans everywhere, I plaintively mewl . . .
So what?
Who cares?
What’s the point?
At least in the dismal ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, Tribe fans always had demented hope.
But now there is no hope .
DK, yes – although still not nearly as bad as Hafner’s deal. Grady only has one more year plus a ’12 option. Hafner is signed for 2 more years with a ’13 option, and at nearly double the annual salary.
we can hope the .211 was a product of him playing with this injury that got worse?
@mgbode – he was initially hurt mid-April and played through it up until he went out. It’s rather likely that the injury played into things a bit, but it’s hard to say how much.
@ Mr C – If I didn’t make a post, you people would have complained about it. What do I mean by “you people”? I don’t know. It’s late.
I don’t see this contract as a bust. S*** happens, you know? Peralta obviously had a fluke of a year before his big contract and Hafner, well, I’m on board with the “He was a big guy — PED scandals — Now he’s not so big” conspiracy wagon. Sizemore was a great player and he kept producing after the contract until injuries stopped him.
Cleveland calls it a bust or a curse. Everyone else would just call it unfortunate.
