Tribe “Win” After “Eight Run Rally” in Ninth
May 16, 2010While We’re Waiting…LeBron and Calipari Rumors, Mike Brown Supporters and Playing the Youngsters
May 17, 2010The Tribe are playing this afternoon in Balmer at 1:35 (Jake Westbrook v. David Hernandez). There’s an Eastern Conference Championship Game 1 (NBA) and Western Conference Championship Game 1 (NHL). Apparently there are some people driving in circles for a few hours on television.
If you happen to be watching any of these, feel free to leave your comments as things unfold. Or go outside or something.

I see “sport” is as popular with me as it is with everyone else in this town right now.
Personally, I’m not watching ESPN anymore, or any sports for that matter for a long while. WFNY will be the only way I’ll be keeping up with what’s going out out there. Thanks guys. Hopefully it won’t be next year before we have something good to cheer about.
I know this is mostly a NE Ohio oriented site… but I think it is worth mentioning that there is a small glimmer of hope for Ohio sports teams this summer. The Reds are HAMMERING the hated Cardinals in the 8th and, if the score holds up, will have taken 2 of 3 from them and the lead in the NL central. So there is a small glimmer of hope.
Ill still watch the basketball game, and be “rooting” for boston. Sounds crazy, but i really hate the cry baby magic. Howard is one of the most annoying players and personalities in the league, and this is more than likely bostons last chance to do anything in the playoffs. I also have the Monaco GP on DVR for later, F nascar and all those left turns
I guess it makes the Cavs looks less pathetic if Boston steamrolls the Magic as well.
Go…Celtics?
/vomits
After a few days of ESPN dodging and riveting conversation with other fans…..I have reached a great conclusion. I am now a member of the LeBron James Apathy club. If he stays, that’s cool. If not, that’s cool. At this point, I almost want him to go, as I now see how lame it is to hold the whole city ransom like this. Add that to Game 5, and I’d almost rather go on without the circus and sucking up to King James
Wacman I’m glad someone else feels the same way.
“Dwight Howard sits down w/ his alter-ego.”
Really?
I WAS rooting for the Magic till now… I can’t root for the Celtics, ever.
Is it ok to root for a meteor to hit Orlando? Cause that’s the only good outcome I can see from this series.
@subadai – I was going to actually try to watch the game before that segment..had to turn it off. I don’t understand why he thinks half the stuff he does is funny. He acts like a 5 year old all the time, and that’s not even a comment about whining about fouls, he’s just a 5 year old.
HATE howard, seriously the most annoying player in the league.
Im getting fed up with lebron as well, real classy to keep the whole franchise/city hostage. Have some respect for the ppl in the organization who ask how high when you tell them to jump.
That said, he could win a title next year in chicago
There is no Cleveland or Ohio connections, but the NHL Western Conference finals are on too. Pretty good game looks like. 1 -1 between the Balckhawks (best unis in all of sports, IMHO) and Sharks.
God I wish I wasn’t on-call. Can’t be more than 5 min from my laptop. Else I’d be fishing and not watching all this crap.
i just flashed on a thought: among other talents they brought to their teams, larry, magic, mj were LEADERS.
when you say to your team…
‘i’m not sure if i want to play with you guys next year. in fact, i’m not sure if you guys are good enough to play with me next year. in fact, you need to prove to me that you’re good enough and then maybe i’ll stay.’
… you’re definitely not leading and kinda being a d.b.
hm. bos is throttling orl. wtfc?
Wow. The Magic now know how the Cavaliers felt after game 1 of the ECF last year. Doesn’t make me feel any better about things, though.
LBJ will at least give the sign-n-trade option, no?
Chicago can’t win a championship next year with LeBron.
They need more than that.
None of the teams that sign him can win next year. They would be at least a year or two away. Windy was on some radio show the other day and he claims the Cavs can’t contend with or without him next year anyway. I think it was Mike and Mike.
Jack, I cant see LeBron doing that because all that does is take away good players from the team that he goes to
say it aint so delonte?
[WFNY Edit: Seriously guys, we’ve all seen the Delonte rumors. That’s not what we peddle in here.]
@crazycav.
If that is true, they need to get that koo-koo Delonte the heck out of town. NOW. Before the “major” news outlets get-ahold of this. Also, anyone who had anything to do with giving him a second chance should be fired and then summarily executed. Publicly.
@Wacman….dude, i totally agree with you. I am almost sick of King James right now and could care less if he goes. Plus, you got the JIMMY BULLARD epic celebration as your default…mad props to that. Still wish he was at Fulham with Clint. I will be watching FUTBOL for the rest of my days
so much for an open forum and i didnt realize this site was actually peddling certain things. This is very important story if true and might lend itself to why LeBron was not himself other than elbow gate, a lower back problem and a big arguement he had with Brown after game four. What ever happened to free speech??
Free Speech?!
This is Cleveland Sports we are talking about here, man! Some things are more important that basic human rights!
/sarcasm
@ Crazycav – that’s a very big IF in terms of things being true. A HUGE if. The internet is free and open and you can do free speeching wherever you want. You can go to Deadspin or TBL or TMZ if you want to read and discuss libelous crap. That’s not what we do here. See the commenting policy for deets.
thats right i keep forgetting this is a family friendly website. lol
C’mon… Deadspin pointed-out that the Delonte thing is a weak variation on a classic “urban legend” type of story. D-West might be one of the few reasons I’d continue to devote three hours of my free time watching the Cavaliers next season.
“Trains, planes or automobiles…”
(Someone finish that quote, please.)
… you better have my dough-nuts!
I forgot this is the washington post and not a sports blog.
The Delonte rumors should be fair game. We ought to discus that they are unproven and sourceless. If something is swirling about our teams I would love to come here for our localized viewpoint. Just my 2 cents.
I mean half the stuff on here is from tweets and other blogs.
I am rooting for the Celtics to win it all this year. After seeing the respect the Celtics showed the Cavs and vice versa after game 6; I think I could stomach the Celtics winning it all.
Never, ever, ever, ever, ever want to see Kobe win anything ever again.
I hate Ron Van Jeremy with a passion.
And I’m really starting to hate the Suns. I would like to root for them but the “Los Suns” are making it tough for me.
Whoa, if anybody is reading this. I would like to be updated on the “new?” Delonte situation… It got edited so it may be inappropriate, but paste a link or something….
Matty, I’ll email you with a link.
Denny- The genius I am decided to google search DWest. Duh!.. Who would’ve thought. Thanks though
I don’t get why any of you would even get hung up on the delonte rumors…I know he’s a bit “off” but I doubt he’s that off…
Is it worthy to give in to the whims of some internet trolls on 4chan who thought it would be hilarious to spread a salacious rumor the minute after the Cavs lost, when the world is paying attention the most?
No.
Don’t let the 14 year olds win.
And now we’re to the full-blown Cleveland insanity state.
Guys, could you really care less if LeBron left? Would you really be happy/indifferent? If you say yes, you’re either a liar or just not a fan. I don’t see how you can defend that viewpoint – there are only four possibilities based on this dumb opinion of LeBron’s attitude or whatever:
1. He stays and stays the way he is. The Cavs continue to be a perennial playoff team at the very least.
2. He stays and improves. The Cavs contend for championships till the end of his contract.
3. He leaves and stays the way he is. The Cavs don’t contend for the playoffs and the team he leaves for does, at the very least.
4. He leaves and improves. The Cavs don’t contend for the playoffs and the team he leaves for contends for championships till the end of his contract.
Now think about it before you keep saying that you’d almost rather see him go, or you’re indifferent, or all that other stupid stuff.
Here’s a new internet rumor I’m starting right now with as much evidence as the Delonte thing. Maybe we can spread it and get it pushed up on Google, too:
Mo Williams is involved with the Russian mafia. He made a deal to tank in the playoffs except when the series was out of reach, in order to push LeBron to sign with the Nets (see the sinister connection?). This deal was actually made shortly after his signing, and my brother’s friend’s cousin’s nephew is a bartender at the Russian mafia front bar where the deal went down. He couldn’t keep silent any more and had to tell someone, even at the expense of his own life.
I think mine actually makes more sense than the Delonte thing.
I heard that too Alex! Crazy.
Eli reads 4chan!
You don’t comment on the delonte story here but the new post at the top is from lebrons lawyer about the same story? Hilarious and very inconsistant!!!!
I like when you don’t read things crazycav. Read the post about the lawyer statement. Things will be, like, explained in it.
