WSJ: Indians are Most-Hated Team in MLB
April 28, 2010Angels 4, Indians 3: Wait, They Lost How?

“When asked about the obvious roller coaster of emotions going on inside the heads of his fans, James was quick to extinguish any flames.
“I’m not concerned [about the elbow],” said James. “I just want to try and get a better sense of what it may be, but Cleveland fans have nothing to be worried about. I’m healthy, I’m ready and we are looking forward to the second round. They don’t have any reason to panic.”
Hearing James attempt to calm his supporters minutes after the infamous free throw may seem like a reenactment of Kevin Bacon’s character in National Lampoon’s Animal House. When the Delta Deathmobile begins to tear through the parade, it is Chip Diller who attempts to will everyone to calmness, only to be trampled over by the overreacting herd.” [Me/FOXSportsOhio]

Echoing my thoughts on yesterday’s WSJ report: “The end result actually works if you consider that the Indians were a 65-win team in 2009 and that even their own fans were contributing negative thoughts to the count. Heck, Indians message boards probably sealed the top spot over just a few weeks last summer with their understandably negative reactions to the trades of Cliff Lee and Victor Martinez. The method also helps to explain why the Reds, Astros, Nationals and Orioles rank so high, even if most of the league is indifferent toward them. All of them, after all, have given their fans plenty to moan about.” [Duk/Big League Stew]

Breaking down LeBron’s assist distribution through the first round of the playoffs, complete with charts! [Numbers Don’t]

On the ever-discussed TJ Ward: “I was told [Nate] Allen was rated higher and reported accordingly prior to the draft. Ward was highly rated by the organization and have been told they are not disappointed in the selection of Ward. If he remains healthy, Ward may ultimately be the better fit for this defense. Both Mangini and Ryan wanted some physical type players in the defensive backfield and on defensive in general.” [Lane Adkins/The OBR – S/R]

And finally, NFL FanHouse redrafts the 2007 bunch. Guess who goes first overall… [Dave Goldberg/NFL FanHouse]

Does anyone doubt that LBJ could dominate a game without taking a shot? His penchant for attracting defenders and leaving others open is solid enough to make careers for anyone able to shoot the ball.
@ Phil M: Suppose he is hurt, can play, but his shot is off. That trick with him drawing defenders (because they fear his shot/drive) will only work for a few plays. Once they realize he can’t shoot they will guard the rest of our team completely.
This worries me.
Even if he is hurt and his shot is off…Lebron is still capable of dominating a game simply by taking the ball to the rack. Running those delay plays and pick and rolls and getting him the ball in the paint will usually end up in a foul or a bucket. I’m not overly concerned with it. The left hand free throw is exactly as someone posted yesterday “dramatic.” He’s king james, it’s what he does.
@ stin4u: He is sort of a diva, so yes, maybe its all been blown way out of proportion, and I hope this is the case, I really do. I think I will breathe much easier when he makes is first three.
Ommm…yeah, not really worried about the elbow. LeBron is the man and as stin4u said, LeBron can dominate a game regardless.
However, LeBron is not 100% correct. As a Cleveland fan, I do have something to worry about: July 1st.
LeBron: Please tell us not to worry about that as well.
Boston will beat the snot out of LBJ book it.
If LeBron isn’t capable of carrying the
Cavaliers again it’s going to be rough. Mo
Williams needs to start producing consistently
because I doubt he can guard Shrek (Rondo).
Rose abused him and I expect Rondo will
too.

What kind of device are you typing on?
It looks like you typed something in narrow margins, saved it to PDF, copied that, and pasted it into the submission window.
Maybe the elbow injury will stop him from jacking up 3’s all day.
I actually believe we are not concerned nearly enough. Elbows are NOT supposed to be numb. Mine isn’t. Something is not right there and I hope its not anything serious. Of course lebrons not worried because he’ll have a chance at a championship where ever he is next year. We may never have one again. So hell yeah I’m worried
Maybe this will keep him in Cleveland… NO TEAM WILL WANT A BANGED UP NOODLE ARMED FORWARD- THINK JOHNNY DAMON. Sarcasm font is turned off now.
I have chosen to take the quote: “They don’t have any reason to panic” out of context and blindly apply that to this summer’s free agency…
It’s quite calming, you should try it.
Let’s just hope James never stoops to the drama that Pierce does with his “injuries”.
“Let’s just hope James never stoops to the drama that Pierce does with his “injuries”.”
I hope that he did.
