June 14, 2009Completely Dominant – Tribe Follows Lee’s Lead to a Win
June 15, 2009While We’re Waiting aims to be the round-up of the recent WFNY-esque information for your morning viewing. Have something you think we should see? Send it to our tips email in the sidebar.
Hit me with it! Just give it to me straight. I came a long way just to see you, Shaquille. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?
“I believe there is less than a 50 percent chance Shaquille O’Neal will traded to the Cavs this summer. But I am relieved that after quite a bit of nonsense out there this week, this is the first time something legit has passed through the Internet involving the Cavs.” [Brian Windhorst/Plain Dealer]

The selling may be put on hold: “[Mark] DeRosa, 34, surfaced early this season in reports as one of the players most likely to be dealt, and his ability to play third base, second base and the outfield only enhances his attractiveness to a team such as the Cardinals. […] But for now, it appears he’s staying put. As Cleveland has inched higher in the standings and the Indians’ asking price for the righthanded hitter has remained high, DeRosa’s biggest contribution is to the lineup.” [Derrick Goold/STL Today]

No pressure. Nope. None. “Barring another surprise this year on the order of Oregon State’s run following its loss to Penn State last year, I think it will be hard for the entire conference to recover from another Trojan romp in Columbus. What the presumptive heavy hitters in this conference really need is another heavy hitter, and without another marquee out-of-conference game to boost teams like Illinois and Iowa on the fringes, USC is it. If the Buckeyes strike out again, it’s going to be hard to prove — for this year, anyway — that the Big Ten is really the big leagues.” [Matt Hinton/Dr. Saturday]

Should we be persuing a different member of the Phoenix Suns? [Amar Panchmatia/Cavalier Attitude]

More on the Joe Tait debate: “I think there is some value to the possibility of adding another voice to the booth with Tait. While I wouldn’t consider it necessary, a younger perspective might energize the erstwhile Tait over the long haul, something that would benefit both Joe and the listening audience. New perspectives can be good, and I have faith that Joe would adapt well to a partner, something he has demonstrated in his conversations with people like Mike Snyder, Bill Wills and Bruce Drennen whenever he interacts with them during various broadcasts. Joe likes to talk, and he likes people, even if he also has his preferred way of doing things. Find him the right partner, and I think you could make Tait even better than he has been in recent years.” [Michael Curry/Cavs HQ]

I saw “Bill Willis and Bruce Drennen” and thought to myself – that’s exactly what we need – Joe Tait and Bruce Willis together in the booth!
LeBron to the line to the lane…. WHAM!! Yippee-ki-yay MF-er!!!
Put me in the “don’t want it, don’t need it” column for a NBA color-guy w/ Tait.
#3-
Agreed. Ain’t broke, don’t fix.
So you’re telling me there’s a chance… YEAH!
More like one in a million.
Good news on the probability of the Shaq trade. Sasha and Ben are two very attractive trade pieces and to waste them on somebody that will 38 by tipoff next season is, in my opinion, a waste. The Cavs need to build for the future not hire mercenaries.

DONT add anything to Tait
Is there anybody else with Mona Lisa
He is the Best dont ruin it with anybody else
I want to hear Tait I dont want to hear others
Tait tells you what is going on I have listened to others and have gone on for about 5 minutes and never knew the score
